Then in theory they wouldn't let you go; they'd either convert you, or kill you if you don't convert.

But this is a Far Cry game, so who really cares about the rather unbelievable story Ubisoft hatched this time ...

    @MikeWeeks

The best way to get someone to do what you want is to make them believe they have a choice to begin with.

Would have replied sooner to this thread but was at work till late lol

Well, atm faiths force you to liberate the region (have not completed jacobs yet but other posts mention this is the case aswell), yes we dont control them. I saw people say i should only kill VIP's because they only give a small amount of resistance, but i dont want to only kill VIP's lol. I want to cause chaos in these regions were everyone wants me dead and navigate the regions doing side quests with an army gunning for me.

Johns region seems to have the best system (need to test it better, it was the 1st region i did) , not only do you choose to start his mission, but after fighting him you then have the option to go to his bunker (or not) which liberates the region

You can avoid liberating Jacob's region by not going to his bunker. You still have to kill him though the literal key to liberating a region is to blow up a heralds bunker.

Faith is the only boss forced upon you. I get you wanna cause as much chaos as possible in her region but that will eventually fill the resistance meter thus triggering the boss fight and liberating her region. The reason I suggested killing VIP cultists only is to slow down how fast your resistance meter fills up.

So we all now know that we can avoid liberating John and jacobs region by delaying going to their respective bunkers. Anybody out there know a way to avoid liberating faiths region?

just completed jacobs and you are right, although the boss fight is still forced forcing you to do something which might result in loosing certain quests?

But either way, faiths region is still stuck in this problem

You can still complete any missions in Jacob's region just avoid his bunker.

I looked on YouTube and it seems after killing john you're instantly in front of his bunker, I only tried not going to falls end but you're saying if you avoid his bunker you can still freeroam in his region with cultists around?

I don't think Faith has a way around it and I tried walking away from the prison but the mission fails if you do. You can't escape her boss fight or her bunker without liberating the henbane as both are scripted events.
Our only hope is Ubisoft patching in some workaround.

Yes, I stayed in John's region for a good 3-4 hours post killing him and everything was still as if I hadn't liberated it. It's only after you clear the bunker section of that mission that it liberates the area.

    Same with Jacob.

With Faith, you can just keep avoiding her over and over and continue doing what you want.

The gripe people have is really petty and they continue to fail to realize that they as the player still have most of the control (not that such really matters anyhow)

For me after filling the resistance meter Faith eventually gets you with the bliss then I'm stuck hearing her preach to me about how I'm wrong and she's right.

Ill test it out though, thanks.

Shoot at her as she comes at you, she'll dissappear.

But if she gets you, yes, you're stuck doing the mission.

Her area is the only one I "kinda" agree with your OP on. The rest of it, I promise you have complete control over.
