    Stealth and immersion

    Hi.

I love playing stealthy and this game make an okay job at it.

What bugs me is that enimies can see you through bushes but can't see you when you land or fly right next to them.
They will also know where you are if you blow something up with your drone but not if you blow something up by shoting at it like a generator for example,
    that makes no sense.

I would also like it if your clothes had an impact on the game as well and not just as a cosmetic. Why can i dress up as an unidad soldier but the unidad will still attack me on
sight ? same with the santa blanca outfit.

This country has a lot of forests so using the ghillie suit makes sense for stealthy gameplay but it has no effect either, they will still see you through bushes and even in tall grass.

Another thing is that the rebels don't really attack the cartels nor the unidad unless you are in a fight with them, and vice versa. It kinda removes the whole rebelion thing and that they whant to take back their country and that the unidad and the cartel whants to get rid of the rebelion when they don't even attack each other on sight, like in far cry for example.

One thing that bothers me is that when you clear an outpost or a fort, the enemies will respawn in them later on makeing it feel like what you just did, did not matter since they are now back there. I guess it is so you always have some enemies to kill so you can get experience and that it doesn't feel empty, but you are here to clear this country out of the cartels and their leders to stop the killing and the drug manufactoring.

One weird thing is that you can blow up a convy but you can still tag it and get the supply rewards. How does that make sense ? It also makes it impossible to fail since you can destroy it and still get the rewards,

Thank you for taking your time to read this and sorry for some grammar misstakes. I still love this game and i have been playing it non stop since i bought it, but it is just those issues that kinda gets to me.

Edit: Enemies can also sometimes respawn in the area you are in, and it is extremely annoying especially in the harder difficulty where you die in seconds.
Why when the rebels attacks an unidad patrol squad do i get them on me ?, It is weird and frustrating, especially when you are sneaking up on an enimie base and they get notifed of your presence beacuse the rebels just suddenly remembered that they are enemies.

There are also way to many sam turrets in the more desert area and it makes it nearly impossible to complete the supply side quest in wich you have to fly an airplane or an helicopter to another area.

i know that higher difficulty is supposed to be hard and challenging, but why can't i choose if i whant to keep the orange cloud on the map that indicates that there are some undetected enemies around ? So many times now i have a spent some times flying around with my drone looking for enemies and not seeing anyone and rushing in and getting shot down, it makes me wonder if he was there the whole time somewhere or if he just spawned.

I don't know if you can change it somewhere in the menu or not, so it's not really a flaw or a complaint. (The enemie notificator)

One of the most annoying thing is that you can't jump in this game. Now i know you gonna say oh really that's the most annoying thingyou found in this game? that you can't jump. Now hear me out, I know that jumping wouldn't add anything to this game but there are some areas where you can get stuck between some rocks or anywhere there is a little hole, forsing you to fastravel and go all the way back to where you wher going, when i little jump would have gotten you out of it.

No worries, someone will come in to tell you why you are wrong in all of your assumptions, how the Dev team has done it right (technically speaking) and how many hours you need to spent playing the game because you first need to git gud!

    [/endofsarcasm]

In all serious though, plenty of threads out there stating the same thing but alas, not even year 2 will bring any fixes for it.

I agree with OP... this game has the worst AI ... focusing on that would create endless fun. maybe it works better/only in Coop

To be absolutely frank, you just have to get used to these things that you mention or learn to work around them. Some of the mechanics in this game are just more simplistic than what you (and I) want them to be. Once you accept that, you may still be able to find ways to make the game more immersive.

For me and the task force I joined that meant playing with a minimal HUD, on extreme difficulty without rebel aid and no drones. That meant we had to get people into position to spot/overwatch while other team members went in.

I will say that I recall either in the closed or open beta that the supply convoys (once destroyed) would not reward you with supplies. .....if I remember correctly. I believe this was something that was consciously changed to what it is now. I do agree however, that they should be destroyed once destroyed.

Something I like about FC5 is what you talk about. You can be driving or walking along and see civilians/militia engaging or being chased by cult members. They are far more active in this sense than GRW. You won't normally see these groups intermingling in FC5 without a hail of bullets. .....at least I never have.

I would say to enjoy the game for what it is as some of these attributes of the game (perhaps all) are simply here to stay. ....but who knows what suggestions or criticisms here will affect changes in the next GRW title (if there is one), so keep the feedback coming.

    1. If you're completely concealed in a bush they don't generally see you unless they're on red alert status and are searching for you, especially if you stay in the spot you were at when detected.
    2. I'm pretty sure they only made vehicles allow for camouflage (such as passing through gates), to keep the stealth challenging. Otherwise it would be too easy to sneak around.
    3. Rebels at times engage in random fights with the enemy, but if they did that too much, it would make it easy for the player to go unnoticed, and lessen the purpose of the Diversion feature.
    4. If enemies did not respawn in outposts you clear, it would be as if there is no central command getting word of it, and also make for boring lifeless spots in the world.
    5. At first I thought rewards for blown convoys was strange, but you only get half the resources when they're blown. It's a gameplay choice, they reward you for taking down the convoy, but not as much.
    6. I've not had enemies spawn in the area I'm in, at least not in the main campaign.
    7. SAMs are only a problem in one mission, and only if you don't blow the 3 there before taking off. Just pick a good route and fly low.
    8. If you mean not having the orange cloud, I was worried it might make it too hard at first, but keep in mind the Spotting feature allows you to see all enemies, which is even better.
    9. GR has never had jumping, mostly to avoid the silly "bunny hopping" some do in mp to try to dodge fire. The only time it ever bothered me is it can make base jumping harder.

I'll add that mantling vs jumping is common in tactical games. As far as the terrain having spots you can get stuck in, that is the way the real world is. If they were to avoid that they'd have to either make the terrain less rugged than it really is in such places, or put up invisible walls, neither of which are better alternatives IMO. I've really only been stuck a few times in roughly 3 play throughs. It's easily avoidable if you are aware of your surroundings and step carefully when on extremely rugged terrain.

I actually like how the terrain reminds me to be careful, it adds an extra dimension to the game. I recall when hiking through dense wet forest once, I got lost. I ended up getting up on a slick bolder to get a better view. I ended up slipping off it and a broken branch tore a big gash in my fleece pants. It was about a half inch from tearing my nugget sack open. Stuff like this happens in rugged terrain.
