The enemy spawn numbers feel about right to me.
Sure, there are times when they swarm you, but I've enjoyed it when that happens on the whole. I don't seem to be getting this never ending stream of enemies some people are talking about. I have times when I meet a lot of enemies, but not constantly, it has a nice flow to it in my experience. The only thing I've found slightly too frequent are the number of enemy planes, but that hasn't been a huge issue, well, so far anyway.
Not sure if I'm on my own here, but if I can explore and move about freely knowing I'm basically safe it would kill the open world for me. It's about risk/reward, there has to be an element of danger involved to keep things fun and interesting.
So if the developers do alter the enemy spawn numbers and AI aggression/awareness I hope it's optional, and something we can change in the settings rather than it being forced upon us.
I think initial spawn rate is too high (goes down as you raise resistance) Starting out there is an enemy vehicle every 10 seconds. Which is too much. Animal spawns are a bit too high imo as well, going hunting is a bit more of a shooting gallery than it is hunting. And the only other thing is enemy plane spawns. Kill one and another is right on its heels. Which is a bit annoying seeing as planes spawn and de spawn quickly. So there is this constant loop of plane engine starting up sounds everywhere you go which is a bit like a broken record. Love the game, probubly my favorite one, but, like any other game really, could use just a couple tweaks. Maybe nothing major, not a complete overhaul or anything like that, just minor adjustments to the numbers and it would be spot on I think.
I actually really enjoy the amount of enemies that get thrown at you until that particular region leader is dead.
I think the problem lies in how much resistance points you can obtain from just trying to explore or run down the road. Saving hostages/killing cult VIP's really need to give a fraction of what you get now.
I like the idea of being hunted but not one shot with a bliss bullet, dart, or going to crazy bliss land when you hit a resistance point. The critical story missions should have been at your leisure and your next resistance point would not go up until you completed said critical story mission.
One of John's missions was him waiting for you in a certain area. Why they all could not be like that seems a little odd. It is almost like they expected everyone to not explore so much and go strait for the missions....That seems odd when you look at previous Farcry titles that encourage you to explore more. Just my two cents.
Yep, I love the amount of enemies too. The feeling of being in occupied territory, always with the looming threat of death hanging over your head... I think it's great and it's one of my favorite aspects of the game.
I think a lot of people get annoyed at being interrupted from playing the way they wish, but I think it leads to a challenging and immersive world. Well done Ubisoft.
Besides, just stay off the streets - which you would do IRL in this situation - and be super wary at at all locations - again, which you would do IRL - and it's perfectly manageable.
I've been just as vocal as others about enemy / animal spawn rates, and I still stand by my view that it's too frequent, but your point about staying out of sight is a valid one, and a tactic I'm starting to employ during my sessions.Originally Posted by mfmaxpower Go to original post
However, I do love to use land vehicles in FC games, so traipsing through the thick undergrowth of forests and woodland is only one way to avoid enemies. And this is why I still stand by my view the spawn rate is too frequent - simply because it restricts vehicle use.
I like it the way it is, one can have peacefull moments walking thru the beautifull woods, and from one moment to the other hell breaks out ( ok, iīm overhelming it a bit XD), but thatīs cool, for me, itīs the thrill, one never knows how heavy it will come.
And what i like most are the unawaited things which happens , p.e. your in a full battle and without any warning a bull breaks out of his gatter pursued by a bear right from a side of you running and fighting just in front of your nose.. XD
Thats what fun means to me, thatīs pure cool entertainment! Canīt get enough of it![]()
