So, I like the editor and I've heard it get much praise, which made me excited because I've been really into it since Far Cry 2. What's more is that I love the weapons in the game; perfect in my opinion, and the loadout editor is an amazing idea, but there is one problem: there is is no category for regular sniper rifles. Unfortunately, the only two guns I wanted to customize were the AR-CL and the .308 rifle, neither of which are listed. You can spawn in a default version that can be picked up, but without an option to edit them, you can't have a suppressor or a different optic on the rifles, which can be a big problem in certain instances. This is such a small, yet odd thing to have, so I'm wondering if it is an oversight? I can't see it being a balance thing, seeing as they are still available through pickup, and I can't imagine the addition of a suppressor or a different optic being any more powerful than any other gun. So there are two specific firearms that can't be used in a stealth setting or with optics of a higher or lower magnification. I'm hoping this is an oversight that gets fixed soon.
Update
It would seem that this was supposed to have been addressed, yet it was not fully fixed. https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...e-Editor-STILL
*bump* This NEEDS to be fixed!!
How can Ubisoft be this shi**y?
I bet they're going to sell the weapons as part of a Editor DLC pack or some bullsh*t.
We're stuck with two .50 cal rifles, but no 308?
Yeah, that sure seems balanced when making loadouts for a map.
The rifle can be placed in the map and picked up, but can NOT be selected in the loadout?
And this is NOT part of known issues, so this is clearly a design choice. I'd like to know what you smoked when you came up with this idea.
The 308 as a pickup has no scope, just iron sights. Sucks for anyone who wants a rifle with a scope though because we're forced to use one of the 50 cals (bolt action or semi-auto). And even those don't have the "real" sniper scope, the zoom on their scope (same on both) is laughable. The only way to give the player a somewhat proper sniper rifle is to spawn him with a 50 cal in the loadout.Originally Posted by michael61191 Go to original post
