I am playing on a wired X-Box One controller and have noticed that I am not able to consistently pull this off without spamming the command prompts. This is not normal since I am normally able to pull off these maneuvers flawlessly in Blood Dragon and Far Cry 4. Did you guys change the formula, or is this a bug?

Hi there Lunatic. I apologize for the delay. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for taking the time to include a video. If you haven't had a chance as of yet, I would recommend attempting our Xbox One guide. If after completing the guide, you are still unable to exacute the take down or are still having issues with your melee attack, please let me know. Thank you for your patience!
Looks like no one is alone on this, Steve.Originally Posted by Steve64b Go to original post
Chain takedowns work fine for me. I did have to relearn how to do them for this game, but it's super easy once you figure it out.
1. Chain takedown= press rightstick and then hold leftstick forward
2. Pistol takedown= press rightstick and then hold down left trigger. Then press right trigger to fire while still holding left trigger
3. Melee throw takedown= with melee weapon equipped press rightstick and just press right trigger to throw melee weapon
I'm pulling off chain takedowns perfectly and often. I hope this helps.

Hi Unicorn, as of the typing of this message chain takedown is STILL not working properly even when I followed the onscreen prompt. As an example, after doing a "death from above," there is an onscreen prompt telling me to "press left on left thumbstick," but my character would not execute even after pressing the prompt at least three times. I don't remember having to hold the button to execute this in Blood Dragon AT ALL.Originally Posted by ubi--unicorn Go to original post
Uh, I had not experienced that. It was completely done by luck and the problem I'm experiencing is even if I DID follow the steps, it still does not execute. Far Cry 4 and Blood Dragon was a LOT easier with ONE button press. I had to spam it at least 20+ times just to make it register. Not really a good sign of this being playtested.Originally Posted by 420JJ Go to original post
