Hi everybody, I don’t usually come on forums to complain but this was such a big issue with this game I had to say something. Far Cry 5 has a god awful progression system that leads to a boring and empty open world devoid of anything to do.
We get railroaded into completing the cult leader missions that force us to defeat them which means all the cultists disappear in the open world, not to mention the weapon unlock system is tied into cult resistance level so by the time you get to the meaty weapons the games almost over and 2 of the 3 areas are cleared out so you don’t have anything to use your shiny new .50 on, it’s not like we can even carry progress over in a new game+ mode, i would at least be ok with the current design if we could do that!
Seriously what were they thinking!?!
I kind of like the concept of progressing the story in this way instead of a list of missions to complete.
It could be tweaked for sure but I find it better than just completing a list. For starters I would make the resistance meter much larger, so you need far far far more xp to even get to the "boss fight".
forced captures are anything but me having a choice lol...Originally Posted by Munktor Go to original post
Absolutely agree. I'm completing it to 100% and I have to avoid things like destroying supply vehicles, loot trucks, liberating civilians because I dont want to finish it before I explore most the region and collect all the collectibles.Originally Posted by rioseven Go to original post
I think it’s you who might have misunderstood, every action you take against the cult gains RP, that in itself is fine, what is not fine is being forced, via a scripted manner to fight and kill the cult boss, thereby rendering their area completely empty of cult forces and making the game boring. the final confrontation with an areas cult boss should be intiated at the will of the player.Originally Posted by Munktor Go to original post
Yeah, I could, but why should I have to restart my campaign just to mess about a bit before the RP meter fills up again, then forcing another reset? Like I said NewGame+ mode is a no brainer if you want to do that.Originally Posted by rioseven Go to original post
