Yeah, I'm playing on normal difficulty for my first playthrough and so far that has been the hardest mission to complete - that last part where numerous enemies spawn in close quarters took me several attempts to get through it alive.
I've also found some of the interactive activators (for want of a better term) to be very finicky in where you can activate them from. If you're too close or at the slightly wrong angle you can't trigger the thing, which is quite annoying at times.

If I recall correctly, you just need to activate the two switches, wait for the hatch to open, then climb the ladder and it will go into cutscene, right? It took me a while to realize that enemies spawn on each phase, so if you rush to press both switches, you'll have a really hard time. Enter room, kill enemies. Press first switch, kill enemies. Press second switch, kill enemies. Go onto ladder.
But there could be a bug that neither of us encountered so far.
I cleaned out all of the enemies before activating the hatch releases, but never considered that the group of enemies that appeared after activating the first one was a set number before I activated the second one. If I would have known that I would have played it differently and killed them all first and then activated the second. I died so many times after activating both of them. I never did see the grapple spot on the helicopter, but just kept looking at it activating my grapple and finally it caught one time and I mercifully was able to complete the mission. Most frustrating!
