After final boss fight, can we go back to the map & complete any unfinished missions?

Ok, based on my own experience I can say that after a region's leader is killed, then you can go back and complete any unfinished story or side missions in that region. So my question is, how about after the final boss fight against Joseph Seed? Once that fight is completed, are we still allowed to go back to the map and complete any unfinished story and side missions?

YES! I just did that as there's still lots of sidequests and stuff to be found, people to meet etc. If you get the end credits all the time after completing the game when choosing "continue" - just exit the game completely and log back in, and the world is yours to explore further

Thanks for the info. This was posted on another thread but someone wrote that if you kill Jacob Seed too early, then a certain character won't be around to offer you missions that you would have received beforehand. Is this true? Who is this character?
