Didn't watch the video in case of spoilers, but here's mine:
1: Finally, the ability to disable the whole HUD
2: The way your character leans out of the car window when you turn your head to the left to look behind you
3: The subtle way he places his left hand on the door when going through
4: The gun use
5: Planes, helicopters etc.
Honourable mention:
Ability to kick down boarded up entrances (only encountered one of these so far, but I really hope there's more)
^^ Yes! Honestly, this is the first time I've seen this mechanic used in a game--and it's VERY well done! Even GTA Online does not have this. The way your character leans out of the car window when you turn your head to the left to look behind you.
I also appreciate the following little details/touches:
* When you blow something up with Boomer nearby you, he runs for cover and hides; just like dogs do in real life--they're frightened by loud sounds, lightening, etc. Nice touch!
* Reloads are accurate--shoot X rounds of shotgun, reload X rounds back in. You'd be surprised how some games don't even have this (*cough* GTA Online *cough*)
* It takes multiple explosives to blow up bigger vehicles like the large box trucks; nice touch of realism.
Very glad to see someone else appreciate this and the other small details - it's these that make a game for me. I know this isn't exactly a driving game and many may wonder what the fuss is, but when reversing a vehicle, the ability to look behind you like this makes it all feel very satisfying. And like you say the mechanics of it work perfectly.Originally Posted by DentureDynamite Go to original post
