I'm not here to vent my frustration, at least not only that. I'm really curious why so many people use RoF, and other cheats today. I joined a Skirmish game on PC and out team got killed in less than a minute through objects and all the distances, from any point on the map 2 players from their team were able to get us.
Then I left, came back in 2 hours. Same scenario but different players.
Is it because Division 2 was announced and they are not afraid to lose accounts or something else caused it? I havent played for a week, maybe I missed something?
Its because they skimped out on anti-cheat and its gotten completely out of control. I know you're in PC but on consoles its cronusmax. The dev team refused(failed) to even address with a SIMPLE response if it was allowed or not and since no stance was taken, everybody uses it.
I was pretty stoked when TD2 was announced but it really started me thinking and realizing how the Dev team failed in so many areas that couldve been fixed. I'm now pretty pessimistic that they have the wherewithal to make a new game when they turned a blind eye to things that needed major improvements. They couldn't fix it then, how in Gods name are they going to fix it now?
Because the only why to address these issues was to rebuild the netcode. Which if you listened to what they said was started on right after launch. Pretty much they have to redo the whole game which is why TD2 is coming. Now if they didn't do this, they all should be fired.Originally Posted by skubyjeff Go to original post
Besides my first sentence about skimping on anti-cheat this has nothing to do with netcode. It has to do with the lack of nipping the problems in the bud. They have continually allowed cheaters to cheat even with video evidence. Sure they've caught some, but some is obviously not enough now that its rampant.Originally Posted by gt2k Go to original post
As far as cronus. A simple "yes its allowed" or "no, if and when you are caught you'll be punished" would have been a detterent. Keeping their mouths shut is allowing players to use it with no consequences or worry. Again, that's a failure to simply communicate, nothing to do with netcode.
Cronus has everything to do with the netcode. Without the proper code they don't know what is going on. BF1 for example bans cronus users because they can detect them. Massive cannot. They don't know who is doing what because the system doesn't know. Bans don't work, a few bucks they can get a new key and they are back in the game. Most of the hackers are off doing other things compared at launch.Originally Posted by skubyjeff Go to original post
You think when a high level producer tells you that having an always trusted client is probably the worst thing for a PVP game and not addressing it then should have told you something. Instead you want them to communicate that they cannot fix it with this current game. Would that make you feel better? Would that have changed your mind in buying this game? Do you want them to tell you that cronus is against the User agreement all console players agreed to?
Do you want Sony or Microsoft to ban it from their systems?
Buff tac builds back up for pvp! Seekers or a bfb would help againts Cronus as it would keep those players out of ur face with a shot gun and it would also help against the strafe/chicken dance. Yes ur squishy but it would make them think twice about running up and getting in ur face with a shot gun
I have no problems with that. As long as they are not tanks againOriginally Posted by MattedRogue735 Go to original post
A simple "yes its against the rules" goes a long way. Not everybody has the means to buy multiple games and many would hate to lose their progress. Silence is never a good look, it would be more beneficial to tell people the truth. They don't have a fix but if they find you using it, you are banned. Leaving people in a grey area is bad business. Imagine a company having a known defect in their product and staying silent.Originally Posted by gt2k Go to original post
A far as hacking. Allowing people to do it, is once again bad business. Its on the company to fix it. Saying "oh we don't have a fix" is once again shifty business. It's on the company to come up with actual solutions not side skirt them. Problems arise in every company, problem solving is part of that. They may not have the netcode but thet have the report function.
run into this all of the time.
how do ii record a dz run to report it,i am solo dz every day.
not a new bee,got about 4000 hrs in game.
been here from day 1.
but the amount of sissy cheaters has increased lately.
ii guess if the sissies can not win except by cheating how bad are they doing real life.
to be P.C. we need to tell them well done when they kill us thru walls.
you cheaters really rule you guys.
will give them a cheater mask that states,i cheat to win.
