Re: enemy spawn rates--even for regions where there are a lot of enemies due to an occupied outpost nearby, the rate at which they suddenly show up is pretty ridiculous; you literally end up with a massive pile of vehicles on the road, and barely have time to loot anything before another vehicle is heading your way.
The bugs I've noticed most (other than the spawn rate), are:
* General distance despawning of animals and/or enemies--I'm sure I've just missed some animals (my bad), but last night I shot a massive Bison only to have it despawn almost right behind me when I turned my back on it. GTA Online also has despawn issues like this. Argh. If at all possible, despawning really shouldn't be happening until a player is way out of physical range of "downed" objects.
* Not trying to glorify another game, but if aircraft controls could use a similar system as GTA Online, this would be a huge boost to the game, IMO. I play with a mouse and controller for most everything, but prefer using my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 for flying planes/choppers.
* One other bug I noticed last night is that sidekicks don't always try to run away from a fire even when they're standing in the middle of it--my sidekick (forgot which one) almost died because of that (managed to revive her).
* Some areas that you need to access (for money, etc.) seem inaccessible, such as a tall white silo (snake at the bottom) with no ladders going up to it. either inside or outside the silo.
* Some money stashes that you clear out (mill building w/roof entry with the two bee hives inside), still show as if you hadn't cleared them out.
But other than the story line controversy issues, my kudos to the devs for a stunning open world; it's absolutely beautiful, and there are a lot of elements that other AAA title games like GTA Online seriously lack (e.g. animals, opened interiors, grappling hooks, zip lines, better weapons)--that's why I'm playing Far Cry 5!
I would honestly love to see Far Cry 5 take on GTA Online--it might be hard in terms of car modding, but as far as sheer size of map, FAR better open world graphics, waterways throughout the map--it has a serious advantage over it already. Would be amazing to see this game get improved for the long-term instead of just until the next Far Cry title comes out.
The only thing it really needs IMO is a little more variety of setting--perhaps some larger towns for more urban combat; more tunnels, etc. More variety of weapons would also be great, but I'm assuming those are coming via future DLCs.
I see various 'bug requests' posted, I think it's important to realize expectations.
I would expect Ubisoft to be working on game-breaking bugs first.
Quests breaking, the game not ending properly, Day/Night cycle, that sort of thing.
Plus some 'easy' quest flag and side content issues.
I'd expect a patch in the next 14 days that will address those things specifically.
Patch 2 might focus on 'nice-to haves' and more minor fixes, I'd expect that to emerge in 4-6 weeks.
For those who want entire control schemes re-engineered or how things are handled, dream on.
In the scheme of things, Far Cry 5 is not the most bug-free game I've seen released, but it's a really long way from the worst, given the size of the game.
Bugs ive noticed so far: (PC)
- Wildlife sometimes gets stuck in rocks. Seen this mostly happen to wolfs. When it happens you also sometimes get serious FPS drops.
- When running over enemies or animals with a boat or a car they sometime get welded/stuck to your vehicle and you have to change vehicle.
- Nick Rye mission being "stuck" as nobody is there to talk to you. I was able to do it after killing John Seed (weird).
- (not sure if bug), when driving a car many NPCs run in front of the car across the road. Also wildlife.
- When alt-tabbed for a while (more than 5mins?) the game almost always crashes and your left with a small "woops" message window.
- killed enemies and animals sometimes/randomly despawning or falling trough the "floor" and disapearing. (not thinking about freeing outposts).
I also have to say that this is the best launch Ive taken part in from day-1. Kudos to everyone on the team. The world is in the top-3 (if not the best) of believable world you just get lost in.
Did you go back to talk to the guy that gave you the mission?Originally Posted by skinnsofa Go to original post
You don't know the definition of "so many bugs". Have you ever played a Bethesda game? Specifically Fallout 3? Now that's "so many bugs". Compared to that, FC5 is damn near flawless. So far the only bug I've found, and I'm about half way through the game, was falling through the ground if you open the parachute in a confined space.
Please Ubi Far Cry Devs ... do NOT reduce the amount of enemy or animals that spawn ... the large numbers of enemy and animals to do combat with is what makes this game so great because there is constantly some action going on.
PLEASE I would beg that you do NOT change this wonderful feature of the game, the tactics to avoid are not difficult and just involve being strategic and moving constantly. If it is really too difficult for some players then make an Easier difficulty that has less enemies but you must keep the current levels and even could add another difficulty with higher numbers of enemy and animals for a more intense battle to be going on. Truly this incredible action is the best thing for such a long time in an open world shooting game.
I would hope that devs can tell the difference between a bug and a preference.Originally Posted by RogerRamjet77 Go to original post
People can complain about things being too easy or too hard, but devs should beware of tinkering too wildly.
I notice the 'Bad-*** binoculars' were removed, though I can think of some players who would have quite enjoyed those, it's all a matter of taste.
