Damage distribution
Can someone explain exactly what determines the damage distribution? It seems like lately, my guys are always "one step behind". For instance, rats have become a beast since an update a few weeks ago simply because they always manage to hit first. If I throw my gnomes at them then it ens up with all gnomes dead, rats no damage. I would have expected my gnomes to die, yes, but at least to deal one hit before doing so. Now they are useless.
Fine though, they are different units after all, I guess the attack speed can differ (even tough rats have become annoying, a bit OP perhaps given the cost?). However, I am seeing a lot of same kind of units exhibiting the same behaviour as well. Just 10 minutes ago I was playing PvP and we both dropped a Bandida Sally each. They ran straight at each other (all alone), both attacked at the same time. Mine died, his got 0 damage and moved on. Seen same thing yesterday with Princess Kenny vs Princess Kenny, mine got killed, his got 0 damage. No obvious lagging, jerking, rubber banding involved, or anything else to indicate the game was lagging on either side.
So... When using the exact same units, none of them spawning (so no spawn delay before attack), attacking at the same time, what determines that one of them gets all the damage? It has always been a bit buggy with the timings in this game and you get forced to kill the same character over and over, but at least you used to be able to trust that if you have an assassin rushing you and you play an assassin of your own they would cancel each other out. Now I keep seeing mine get killed and theirs get no damage, which certainly changes the balance of a PvP game. The one 10 minutes ago I lost thanks to this.
