It may be April Fool's day but it's no joke, a Big Alessandro from a GE cache.

It was raining loot for me today in caches from both the Ge vendor in the Terminal and DZ UG Bosses.
I purchased 2 caches earlier today, the first contained a pair of Hunters Faith gloves needed to complete this set as a bonus added onto 2 Firecrest CS armour pieces.
The second cache contained 2 exotics, a Barrett's Chest piece and a Midas SMG.
Sexton the Boss in DZ 1 UG kindly drops me a 281 level, decent stats,The House SMG.
The named Boss in DZ 3 UG drops a Hildr SMG.
Then I purchased 3 caches and it gives me a CS Nomad vest for my second set leaving only a CS Nomad kneepad set to complete it.
It also had a much better CS Lone Star vest than the one I had already.
One cache of the 3 only had GS armour.
The last had a CS Final Measure Vest, which I did not have.
The final item in the cache nearly knocked me off the chair it was a 279 level BIG ALESSANDRO, I rerolled a useless talent so it has prepared, deadly and cover shooter and it comes with 21% damage out of cover.
So on April Fools day down under, I got 5 exotics and 3 new CS pieces of armour, one completing my Hunters Faith set.
But even the NPC drops were very kind, a 285 level Carbon 700 sniper, a 281 SMG, a 286 M9 pistol and also a 282 Lightweight M4. All have decent talents and stats.
QUESTION: Is the hype surrounding the Big Alessandro well founded or another urban myth?
ANSWER: It is well founded, this thing melts NPC's, but it fires so fast you are constantly restocking the mag, but with the damage it does, both up close and from a distance, especially if you remain in cover, it lives up to the hype, clearly the best damage weapon in the game.
So thanks Easter Bunny for delivering theses goodies, much better than chocolate.
But again a classic example of the absolute imbalance in the RNG system, yes I beneffited this time but I have been on the other end and its not much fun watching some get heaps and yet others who are working and grinding it out get little reward. Hoping in Div 2 they get a better balance so if you do the grind you should get the find.

Add the Big-al to a 6 piece lonestar and it almost never runs out of ammo and gets more powerful and fires faster because of the 6th piece bonus (i'm sill looking for a Big - Al

Congrats man. Got about 5 Big Als, got a least one from a GE crate so yah it happens. Funny enough outof those 5 I think only one is very good ( accurate vicious). Part of the problem with Exotic weapons is that you only really get two talent choices. Good news is you only need to get one good talent on the drop for it to be usable, bad news is you lose that third talent slot. That brings us too your question is the Big Al any good. Yes and No. From a PvP stance almost all Lonestar build still use the MG5 because you cannot guarantee the use of cover, and you can basically get perfect rolled MG5s with the pattern. For PvE the Big Al is pretty strong, the RPM is just crazy with LS 6pc. I find that its damage buff is ok but just doesn't last very long. If you are running it with an RPM mag you have 55 rnds so the buff only helps if the 6pc procs and you get that bonus. It does Ok I guess its hard to see a really big difference in damage to an MG5 that can have an extra damage talent that works all the time. The lack of an underbarrel slot is a bummer which means -19 CHD or -14% stability. Still a fun weapon too use though. Enjoy

Yes the Big Alessandro is sensational against NPC's but it goes thru a mag so quick, so you get caught out if using it alone, but I was pairing it with a good roll The House for close shooting and it was a riot, love them both but for pure melt them fun the House has something special and it is so quick to restock the mag.
There was a posted video on here a few days back of an agent using 6 piece Lone Star and 2 Big Alessandro's so with auto fill holstering, it was a continuous stream of bullets.
Love the Big Alessandro but it does have it's short comings, most noticeably how often you are refilling the magazine, which is slow and it needs stability mods so you can use the 30% reload but it's harder to keep on target, particularly over any distance.
It will be useful for me in shooting rogues to stop them cutting the rope at extractions, it is great with my Nomad 6 piece, which has high damage absorbing capabilities.
looking forward to taking it out in the DZ for more fun.

Legitimate question, I'm not trying to have a go at you: is that what the gun is really called in your region (AUS, I believe you mentioned?) It's called the Big Alejandro here in the US. Just curious if it's a localization thing.

That’s the April Fools portion of the thread.

All the Big Alessandros are going to self-destruct come tomorrow morning leaving only the Big Alejandros behind.

    *typo.

Yes my mistake, the Big Alejandros, just not used to the way it is spelt. But I am also sure I have seen it referred to as the Big Alessandro online when looking it up but will use the correct grammatical spelling, Thanks Professor Wilbo_T_Baggins.

Big Alejandro works the best with Lone Star. Reloads are not even an issue. Damage is insane especially when you proc the Berserker!!! It’s insane

I have a couple of these but was waiting to use this and the Hungry Hog when i finally get a Lone Star Holster to finish the 6 piece for that. Lone Star has just not dropped for me at all in these GE's. I've got 4 of my 5 pieces from dz farming and just 1 piece from the GE. It's all random though so may get one, may not.

I could do with a good House dropping. The one i've currently got is not really built for what i was needing and have 1 useless and locked talent for the pred set i'm running as you can only change one.

Hungry Hog i found great in a group setting when it was 4 vs 4 from a distance and was using my striker build, just a constant rain of fire of them and as it stacks damage each round fired when they came out 75 rounds in it was a beast. Was a huge help in that sceanrio as they couldn't get out of cover successfully.

I nees to get my nomad set up and running, got enough to make a couple of sets but just haven't started it yet. Was thinking a LMG might be useful here so will try the Big Al out with that too for a true tank build.
