Crafting medkits, no longer a thing?

Okay so I have searched high and low to find a spot or recipe to craft medkits.

Harvesting plants to craft healing items is no longer a part of the Far Cry gameplay?

That would mean the plants are only good for homeopathics. The only one I like is the one that boost your defense. Maybe I just have not found a use for the other ones yet.

To my surprise I have not been able to find a single way of crafting medkits. The only way I have been able to get them, is by buying them from the shop, or picking them up from random locations, of course.

Since in the old games you were able to craft healing items, how come in this new one you can't?

Med kits are crucial when you're not playing stealth, running out of Med kits and having to go to a shop to get more is kind of ridiculous in my opinion!

I want to be able to craft my own medkit so I can stay out in the wild longer. The less I have to go back to the shop to re-up on medkits, body armor, and ammo the better! Cuz every time I have to go to a shop to get more stuff, it totally takes me out of the immersion of the game! I feel that way simply because it's tedious to go find a shop just to buy a couple things. If you have no money, forget about it, you're totally ****ed!

These are my opinions, I bet there are a lot of people that are probably going to disagree with me on this, so I am expecting it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Ronan, anyone else care to comment on how Medkits work in FC5?

I rarely have to buy medkits and so on, because I pick up most of what I need looting foes.
This suits a stealth approach better perhaps.

Nice to not spend half the game running from blue leaf to green leaf...

You can get the perks that give you more base health. And one that lets you carry more health kits. You can also do a slow manual heal.

But that's the thing, you aren't running from Leaf to Leaf because you cannot use any plants to craft medkits.

    That's my main gripe!

So instead of running from Leaf to Leaf, I'm running all the way back to the shop to buy more medkits, body armor, and ammo.

(By ammo i mostly mean arrows. As i have never found any arrows out and about. Hell, im not entirely sure you can pick arrows back up out of the corpses of your victims. I mean i think that works, well sometimes. If you miss your shot with arrows, then the shots you missed, those arrows are gone for good!)

By small heal, you mean like in the old games, where you would bandage yourself instead of using a syringe to heal?

It's confusing because the medkit animation is the same animation as manual heals from Far Cry 3. You know wrapping your hands up with medical tape.

Hell, I'm not entirely sure how wrapping your hands with tape heals bullet wounds to the chest!

    Am I right?!

Also thanks for the info, but I already knew about the perks that you can get. But my main gripe is I want to be able to CRAFT medkits. I am sick of having to run all the way back to the shop to get more!
