Seems like every time I try and utilize a silenced weapon to liberate an outpost my first shot puts everyone on guard. This includes the bow. I remember in 3/4 when you could headshot the guy in the back of the line and there would be no notice from others. Now when I one shot someone alone in a room the whole outpost freaks out.
In my experience silencers are VERY worthwhile, but you still have to be careful which target you kill, and it's visibility to other NPC's because the NPC's are programed to recognize when they see a dead body. Also I recommend using your binoculars first before picking a target, some targets will have a special "alarm" icon over them. If you shoot @ them, but fail to kill them in one shot they will often sound the alarm. Silencers aren't an automatic "I win" button, but they help a lot.
I know what you mean, that mechanic is broken, in one instance when i got the acheivement hit a headshot at 150M away their is NO way they heard me but they still managed to fire morters right where i was shooting from, it's broken. i've nearly done all the outposts and only once have i ever liberated an out post without being detected.Originally Posted by Caprageous Go to original post
I have definitely had the experience of the enemy in separate parts of the camp alerted to my silenced weapon taking down one of their own. It happens so regularly that I only buy that item if I want a sniper that keeps me far from their eyes. They don't seem to run straight to the alarm though unlike firing a regular weapon, so that at least happens.
