SPAWN RATES - WILDLIFE/NPC / Less is more...

Ubisoft - you really need to tone down the spawn rates of the Wildlife and Cult NPC’s in the game.

    LESS IS MORE...

When you along the road, the frenquency, of Cult patrols, trucks, prisoner vans is simply ridiculous.

The same is with how frequently the game spawns in Wildlife, I mean bears and cougars spawn in every 30ft.

It’s just over saturation. When things spawn this frequently it’s no longer a spectacle.

    This needs to be addressed.

Defeat the boss in that region and you will have almost no Cult NPCs roaming around.
As for the wildlife: I dont see the problem. I am constantly hunting animals and it doesnt seem too much.

I focused on Johns region first and I wouldn't say spawn rates are that high but then again, I'm trying to stay away from the roads as much as possible because I feel like that's what protagonist would do. On to the Faiths region now, totally different story. Aninals spawning right infront of me, those that Faith spawns i guess, the drugged ones. Those really are too often, I mean I literally made like 7k in 10 minutes yesterday just by traveling through the woods and killing them.

Whats also different in Faiths region is random enemies in the woods. Especially Angels, they are everywhere which surprises me coming from Johns region. So i guess it depends on the region maybe?

I’ve started just walking everywhere and as long as you don’t start a fight you are ok.

I don’t go near Faith’s region because zombies make me want to quit the game. I have always hated the supernatural parts of the FC 3+ games (due to breaking the immersion) but at least in 3 & 4 they were largely confined to the missions, not excursions into the open world.

FC2 allowed you to feel like you were in Africa. Despite many other issues, it did immersion better than any Far Cry game that followed. I am sad that this is no longer a priority for Ubisoft (but well done for removing the mini map. If only the actual map worked like it does in FC2).

I have to disagree with you. I just liberated my 1st region (John Seed, the one you start in). I liberated all outposts, Killed John and did the final mission in the said region and I can't drive on the main road for 10 seconds without being shot at by the Cult's pickup equipped with a turret.

Fishing for example is impossible as well in this region after I liberated it as I'm able to catch one fish just to suddenly get shot at by 2 Cult boats or those constantly flying planes.

That's weird because i can barely see any Cultists after completing the region almost to 100%, only 2 missions left which are spread out to the whole map as you must collect all the stuff...
It seems so peaceful compared to Faiths region which I just started liberating.

I was doing some fishing yesterday evening for about an hour because it's really awesome (not super realistic but "arcadey" which I really like; same goes for hunting) and within said hour I had to shoot down 8 or 9 planes. I shot one down and the other one was spotting me within a minute or so. Not mentioning that each time I shot one down, I was jumped by a mob of 2 or 3 Cult pickups xD. I've played for about 10hrs now and my killed enemies count is over 1300 xD.

Along the roads the frequency of Cult patrols is absurd - I’m sorry.

It’s not that it’s difficult to deal with them.

    IT JUST BREAKS IMMERSION...

So basically, I go off road and walk across country - which I enjoy.

But the Wildlife is ridiculous... Cmon guys, how can you walk an in-game mile (approx) and be attacked by 4 freakin bears... it’s like a bear every 20 ft..

    It’s just stupid.

IT RUINS ANY SPECTACLE THE WILDLIFE WOULD OTHERWISE BE.

It’s a real shame because the wildlife is wonderfully animated.

This is so true, as is the thread's title 'Less is more'. We can only pray for a patch. The thought of being able to free roam through all this beauty and only very occasionally encounter the rarer types of wildlife (and be able to avoid them by staying quiet/still) makes me very angry they're so in your face all the time.

For me this game is not far off what my perfect game would be. To think what could have been with just a little more thought.

You have played for 10 hours and you liberated John's region but surely there's a lot in his region to explore and do right? It took me 25 hours to walk over the whole region, discover literally everything so there are no grey spots on the map left except a little bit on the mountains top left. Maybe that's why there are no Cultists in my game in John's region anymore.
