If a leader is killed, can we still finish the story/side missions in that region?

When are we able to kill one of the main enemies (ie/ John Seed, Faith, or Jacob Seed)? Is it after we complete all of the story missions in the enemy's region? Or is it after we reach enough resistance points in the region? The reason I'm asking is because I want to be able to finish every story mission and side mission in the game but I don't want any mission to be locked out after a leader is killed.

If we kill the leader of a region, are we still able to finish all the story missions and side missions in that region?

I was able to go back and finish side quest after killing the leaders of 2 regions. I have no finished the game yet so not sure if you can after killing jacob, assuming we get to kill him.

When were you able to kill the region's leader? When the story missions were completed? Or were you able to do it earlier than that?

Yes you can complete the rest of the region after killing the leader. When you reach the end of the RP bar for that leader's region you get a story mission to confront them (which you can leave until you want to do it). You can fill up the bar without doing everything in the region. I just did the NPC story missions and as many cult outposts as needed to meet the next circle on the RP bar (which will trigger a story mission/cutscene).

When the resistance meter is full the game puts you head to head with each leader.

I have discovered something which might be interesting for you. Here it comes: I began to work my way through John Seed's Region until the final encounter with him. After getting rid of him, I did a lot of side missions. Here it where it gets interesting. As soon as you fully liberate the Region, you get Bonus Money for liberation when you complete Side Missions.

I just noticed that this evening! I am getting a $400 bonus for region liberation.

Yepp, and that's why I do the Side Missions after getting rid of the Antagonist in the certain Region. It feels good to drive without worrying about cultists attacking me. Also... there is one cool thing I noticed when Hunting. Buff yourself with the.... Performance Enhancers and PUNCH the Wild Animals to death. With the Talent for double the amount of loot, you receive 4 Animal Skins, which makes you a lot of money

    Hey there!

Everybody else has posted as much already, but just to confirm: yes, you can continue to go through the side missions after you have liberated a region.

And as praline30011 points out, you get bonus cash for any missions you complete in a region after defeating the respective leader.

When the resistance meter is full and the game puts you head to head with each leader, is this the final story mission? Or are there more story missions that you can come back to after killing the leader? I'm just trying to decide the order I want to do this. I'd prefer to kill the leader first, and then play the rest of the story missions and side missions afterwards, but I don't know if that's possible if their leader dies.
