Forced dreamsequence crap breaks immersion. Breaks it hard.

Let me start off by stating that I am really enjoying this game. It is not without its warts and bugs, but by and large, they are tolerable.

But there is one huge pilonidal cyst in far cry 5 that is becoming unbearable to me. That is the 4+ times a zone you are going to find yourself whisked away to exposition plot land where you are supposed to sit thru amateurish short films or dream sequences where the current bad guy defecate all over cinema's "Show Don't Tell" rule and Monologues like he (or she) is the lamest Bond villain ever.

I can tolerate bad game cinema to a certain extent, but they way it is implemented in this game is so player unempowering. Deputy badass is In the middle of Fort Bad-***, surrounded by armed militia and two bad-*** companions, and finding yourself rendered helpless by a song or magic bullet or sparkly wind, and taken away to exposition dreamland where the player has little to no control. This is not open world or player empowering. I personally hate these gimmicks, but accept them as the necessary crutch of modern game designer. But FFS, they happen in this game so often that I actually avoid storyline advancing missions so I don't have to deal with them.

I realize that the horse has pretty much left the barn on Far Cry 5, but please don't do this in future games.

    Totally Agree

I agree the dream sequences are really lame and stop the game flow.

I completely agree!! This, along with all the unreal amount of action and talking that goes about everywhere.
It ruins the game. Far Cry Primal also had too much action, but it was a different ambience, so I gave it a pass. But this is just Far Cry 4 with more stuff to entertain millennials. We don’t need all this action and stuff everywhere to keep us playing the game. Far Cry 3 was so good, that it made me play it twice. Just do another great game without cutting corners. I am afraid this is going to become another Assassins Creed/Call of Duty/Battlefield money making object.
And the pace is too fast. Game developers should realize that the pace of the game is very important. Slow down all the running and shooting. The human mind likes what it can understand. All these people running, jumping and shooting like they are on steroids doesn’t make for immersive/tactic gameplay and even aggressive gameplay. It just makes it an arcade game.

I agree! I have been stuck in one of Jacob Seed's killing mazes for 4 days now and I can't get past it before the time runs out. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. It should NOT induce stress and make you frustrated. That is NOT fun! I wish that there was just a way to bypass it so I could get on with playing the game. The rest of the game is awesome!

How simple it would be... to have a great game.

Just think how easy it would be to have a truely great game... by only leaving all the crap bullsh$t foreced gameplay out! Wow! I mean it is unimaginable... You have a truly great game... but you have to ruin it with a bunch of crap that nobody wants to play...

I loved 3 and 4, but this 5? God-awful drug-induced BS to the nth degree. Over it. I've nearly reached the limit where now I can't advance in Faith's region, and nearly about to be whisked away again in John and Jacob's region.

Come on Ubisoft, PATCH THIS NOW!

With the way Ubisoft is going, they are most likely planning a more linear game, with twice as many timed missions, speed runs and drug inducing BS for Far Cry 6, only because they love upsetting their customer base, soon to be, their ex-costumer base. At least Beyond Good and Evil 2 looks promising, compared to all the other recent junk created by Ubisoft. But now, I will just wait and see on all future Ubisoft projects, because none of their recent junk games are worth more than $15 at most. No more pre-order Gold Editions for me, until I see some serious improvement in game quality and mechanics. I loved Ubisoft games before, but those days are now gone. Congratulations Ubisoft, you did it to yourselves!
