As far as I know there's no development of games like FC2 any more. Today we're treated like 7 years olds who need to be told everything, shown where it is and what to do with it. Items have to flash and the AI must be stupid and behave like cartoons.
WHY can we not have games to turn off all the guidance so we have to figure things out for ourselves? Is it to do with the general dumbing down of society? With big open world games surely these ought more to be about exploration and discovering things, working out 'how to', 'what to' and 'when to'? Seems to me developers spend their time working on missions, side missions, races and various arcady in-game contests in preference to creating something where players really have to think things out for themselves.
Hey, Ubi - how about a serious adventure game without leading by the hand the whole time?
