Same here; but I think they fall through the map and it's just you can't see them anymore when they're dead when they've fallen through the map because they're not tagged when they're dead so it looks like they've desporned. When they're alive and they fall through the map it's easy to see where they fall to (see video above)

This happens to me too on a high end PC with 1080Ti. Both animals and people. And its not the misty ones, but ordinary ones.

The despawn/disappear thing is REALLY starting to get annoying. To a point where I have to loot everyone I take down instantly, otherwise, if I take down the outpost they are gone.

I really don't see how this was overlooked? Seriously, I can think of a ton of other games that have addressed this issue and implemented fixes that are standards now.

Could we maybe have the corpses NOT DISAPPEAR until we have looted them? Is that so hard to do? Maybe set a time limit how long they would remain, say 4-5 minutes? When I look away from a body it should not just dissapear. I've even had entire vehicles + bodies dissapear after they were blown up.

I want to like this game so much, there are so many beautiful moments and details. But there are some things that were obviously overlooked, even to a point where these are just blatantly stupid mistakes.

PC user here, and yes, all of this has happened to me too (both animals and NPCs, even some vehicles).

Also, cultists bodies will disappear after you liberate the outpost--probably by design--but if you don't get a chance to loot them before the liberation activates, you can kiss your loot goodbye...which obviously makes looting the last cultist you kill impossible...

If it helps, my PC specs are: i7 3.4GHz, Win7 Pro 64-bit SP1, 16GB, GTX 970 SC, running at 1920x1080

I have shot multiple animals from towers, 3 bears, 2 bison and a cougar. Climbed down off tower and they all disappeared. This doesn't happen if you stay focused on them but if you have to climb down a tower ladder, you lose sight of them and they vanish

Same. I play on the PC.

Animal corpses instantly disappear if they are out of sight.

Playing on Xbox One and it's not just animal skins - It's pretty much everything. Stuff vanishing is ok because the game couldnt hold that much info. However the incredibly short distance you need to travel for something to vanish is a big problem. You can walk around a tiny shack and everything has vanished into thin air. Same goes for enemies appearing. They materialize out of thin air.

I'm experiencing a lot of despawns as-well. Animals, vehicles and NPCs disappear almost as soon as you look away.
Please fix this or let us change the despawn settings

    Playing on PC.

Same issue here, on the PS4. Shot animals already disappear after 10 seconds max, which is unbearable.

Pls Ubisoft, can you fix this?
I love hunting in this game. But this is a deal breaker for me.

[PC] I've seen an animal carcass disappear even while looking at it's direction (the 'x' on the compass) maybe 100 m away. The 'x' just disappeared.

I understand it's a performance issue, but maybe implement some kind of distance and/or time limit on the carcasses. So we don't have to be doing running-simulator-in-the-woods.

Btw, we would appreciate a draw distance slider in the video options as well. [PC]
