I feel like you might be right. Going through missions as they slowly intensify the story throughout the game just might not feel as good when Lambert isn't talking in your ear.It still won't feel like Splinter Cell even if Michael Ironside returns if Irving Lambert doesn't return.
Reboots usually suck, but at this point, can it get any worse?I wouldn't mind a reboot of Splinter Cell if it was a way for them to make the game basically a sequel to Chaos Theory with all the same voice actors and bring Lambert back. Clint Hocking possibly being involved with Splinter Cell 7 is the only thing that makes me have ANY hope that Splinter Cell could return to it's roots and not just be another Conviction/Blacklist

People have their places. I have good ideas for games, but it's very specific games.... not literally every game ever which is why you can't just have some random Creative Director do your games. It's like me being Creative Director for the next Civilization Revolution. I don't even play the games, I don't even like the games, so why would I bother working on them?Wow! I didn't know that. Rainbow Six 3 is CLASSIC Tom Clancy at it's very best. But how much of a role did he actually have in the making of that game?

Maxime Beland is very passionate about Splinter Cell, you can see the reaction he has when everyone is screaming of happiness when they show the trailer and gameplay of Blacklist on Microsoft E3 conference. He loves Splinter Cell and new ideas are always welcome.
I get why some people didn’t like the changes Conviction and Blacklist had but I (being a player since the first Splinter Cell) welcome those ideas and I love Conviction and Blacklist, they have problems of course like all the previous games but it was a good change in some respects. It wouldn’t be fun or innovative to have the same gameplay the first 4 had, time changes people and so everything does, cars, phones, videogames, etc.
Now neither Lambert or Ironside need to come back. Yes, go ahead kill me, if you can that is….
Lambert was a great character, but I don’t miss him, and there’s no way he is coming back, his story is finish, move on.
Ironside is a great actor/voice actor but I don’t care to much about him playing Fisher again, if he is going to be obligated to do the character, then is better he doesn’t do it. He liked Conviction because Fisher was on his own and he didn’t have to obey orders aka “don’t kill this or that because is wrong” that changed when Blacklist was born, and he didn’t like the idea of Fisher going on those routes again, reason why he didn’t do the voice acting. Also, if the scrip writers don’t do a good job writing Fisher personality then doesn’t matter who does the voice is going to be crap anyway.
The voices of Lambert and Grim had change multiple times, it happens. Yes, I agree Eric’s voice is way younger, is time for a change of actor don’t care who does it if it sounds right. I play the Spanish version and the voice actor, Luis Bajo, is a top Sam Fisher, right there with Ironside.
Sam Fisher being the playable character again makes sense and I like it that way, till the story on the games gives me a good reason of why not to.
1.The story from Blacklist is not finish so it makes sense that he is still present.
2. He is not old enough. He would be on game timeline 54 years old at the moment of Blacklist/next game, at that age if you exercise and take care of yourself like Fisher does, is possible to do pretty much everything. See John Wick for example or better yet, a Keanu Reeves and he does all the stunts and on real life he is very good on combat. So no, Fisher is not old enough. Both of them can come here and kick any younger *** out there.
Grow up people and be mature, games move on, and so we should to.

Loved Blacklist. Loved every Splinter Cell so far. Super hyped as everyone else is about this year though![]()

There was one interview with Beland about Conviction decisions. The original team somehow was not able deliver new game in appropriate time and there were issues with the game (Everyone remembers Jason Bourne gameplay from original Conviction idea in semi-open/free-roam maps where Fisher had hoodie and could interact with environments. Well yeah, that concept didnt work, but they had a story done etc, so new team was responsible to make it faster and thats how new ideas were born - panther, etc. In another interview Beland says:
Well, it works for Conviction - revenge story, but seems as Conviction had good sales, a lot of players(newcomers) liked the game because it was not so hardcore like original trilogy (I dont like double agent PC version), so thats why they proceeded with similar playstyle in Blacklist. I type how I speak and when I speak about this series, I speak with emphasis and passion which means I will have plenty of capital letters and maybe a few F Bombs that apparently trigger everyone. I figured everyone is okay hearing profanity since I'm pretty sure everyone here is 18+ and I won't hurt their delicate virgin ears.
The irony I'm seeing here is that this is more of the judgmental statement than what these "pessimistic" fans say. I mean if the pessimistic side speaks negative, the "optimistic" side goes after them. If the "optimistic" side says they like the game, the "pessimistic" people keep scrolling.
