I haver all my ubi games on an SSD drive as they do tend to take a while on normal drives
My test (pushing ESC at vids etc speeds things up)
Uplay - Play button -> Play far cry 5
Game menu loaded - 48 secs then clicked Continue
Game loaded - with total time from Play on Uplay to game loaded 1m 1 sec
Weird thing is i am having the same load times on SSD and HDD, almost negligible.Originally Posted by StarlancePanthr Go to original post
My SSD is an NVMe M.2, while HDD is a 5400rpm drive.
I'm still in the very beginning of the game and haven't explored outside of the island Dutch's bunker is on. Does game progression make any difference in load times?
See my comparison below.
P.S. - I launched the game from Steam and not Uplay
I don't know the mechanics of how it works when you launch from steam. I presume it launches some components of uplay? Or just steam.components? Maybe a bottle neck between steam and uplay?
I have been playing for about 3 days now and completed 1 boss and 75% of second so quite well into game and my loading times have probably been consistent throughout.
Hope the op finds a fix![]()
