1- Carve your river path
2- Select and place your water layer
3- Go to particles and FX, then water
4- Select one of the lake splash bottom FX, you determine which one
5- Place that FX UNDER the water layer, in the direction you want it to flow, deep enough so the splash doesnt show
The animation will add water flow, ripples to the water surface, different water layers add different visuals, so play around with them.
Add how ever many particle effect you need, for the length of the river.
Raise the particle FX a bit, if you want a little splash above, and place rocks next to the splash for realistic rapids.
Hope this helps!!
Combi, sadly, these do not create a push in the water, its more of a visual work around.
And yes you can make rapids, if you raise them to a certain height and have a bit of splash come out, then put a boulder behind the splash, itl make it appear to be hitting the boulder and splashing up, like real rapids. Pretty damn cool!
Manlius, thats a tough one. Its a matter of getting the water layer positioned just right, and imo placing a number of small rocks at the edge of the layer, with the water top falling out of those. Its basically an amount of fine tuning to get right. Im really hoping for more water particle effects.
These water FX were something we insiders begged for, so I am really happy they included some at release, especially since they affect the surface of the lake layers and make a visual current with ripples.
Add on top of the waterfall, The top piece and some water sparkles. And at the bottom the bottom emiter. And you got a pretty nice one.Originally Posted by Manlius10A Go to original post
Good tip kyle.
Hope we get a medium waterfall emitters, now there are just pieces for a small and large waterfall.
An old video, but maybe it helps?Originally Posted by Manlius10A Go to original post
