Restart Uplay. Try verify files from Uplay for the and let everything be installed again.

    same problem

I have got the same problem. Installed the game twice but it allways stuck on D3D verification 8 (5/12). Trying to get the phone support already for 20min. No chance.

    ditto

I am trying it again today, but it always freezes on D3D Verification (3/8). When I started up it skipped installing DirectX in stage 1 and 2, and went right to the D3D verification. One item of note, today it's spent a long time on D3D verification 6.1 (2/8) before going to D3D verification (3/8). I am hoping they've patched this since the bug was first reported hours after release, and it's been 4 days now.

GOOD NEWS, it's just gotten past that section to Installing...(4/8) for the first time (Windows 8.1 Update). Try launching it again today and see if it updates. I'll post back.

    nope

After it got to Installing (4/8) it threw an error box up and crashed:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

It's the first time it's ever gotten past the D3D verification (3/8) section though, so that's something.

For some reason something is not being able to install correctly on your config. You can try these possible fixes:

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've been there, done that. I checked and tried to update all the above and already have the latest .NET framework, C++, DirectX, and windows updates. The updated won't install bc I have the newest versions.

Now all it does when I click PLAY is:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

I've already confirmed / verified through UPlay that I have all the files for the game, but something is screwing up while installing the D3D and/or windows 8.1 updates after the game launches.

    Solution

I found a solution today. I was running the game on win7 and obviously there was a dll missing. Because it does not help to download and place the dll I installed Win10 and installed farcry ones more. Now it is running!
