I would add one thing to this as well, learn to vary your speed when flying a plane. If you are being shot at, then speed up and dodge, if you are trying to hit a target and stay on their tail, then slow down. You don't have to be going max speed to stay in the air...a bit of practice can give you a good feel for this....so slow down to stay behind them, speed up to get out of their way....though sometimes, using combos of fast and slow allow you to get behind them in the first place. Honestly, of the above, #3 is probably the most important.....Originally Posted by AnimusLover Go to original post

Amen to that.Originally Posted by ImMasterus Go to original post
What is it about them specifically that you feel is bad? Controls that are too sensitive or not sensitive enough can both feel bad. Things like accelerated turning can feel fine if perfect but cause more harm than good if even slightly off.Originally Posted by maktoob77 Go to original post
How about you license the mechanics from an older UBi title IL2 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< yes it was a great flight sim.. and too difficult for many but.. it also had an easy flight helping mode for newbies.. those two modes would help next time..Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
I didn't think he was all that hard to shoot down but I also have spent an hour or so just goofing around in the plane. My issue was simply bad programming on Ubisoft's part. The dude flew his plane out of bounds when I was fighting him so it respawned me and made me start all over. Not sure who dropped the ball on this one but it seems pretty dumb to allow the AI to go out of bounds.
I'm confused, is my game bugged then? I had no problem shooting John's plane down, then hopping out of my plane, and gunning him down on the road where he landed, it really wasn't that hard, it was quite easy in fact, how is it impossible? I mean, when you have the plane controls not inverted it's hard, but I don't see how it's impossible?
Reduce your speed! kupoflupo had this advice in the 33rd note in this thread. When you take off from Seed Ranch, you have probably ramped your speed up to the max rate. As you approach John's plane, reduce your speed by 3 or 4 taps of your designated "reduce speed" key. That way, you should be able to stay behind John's plane for most of the battle. When his plane goes down, exit your plane and wingsuit down to the gorge that runs right up to John's bunker......the nearer to the bunker, while staying in the gorge, the better. John will slowly work his way up to the bunker, and right up to you.....no chasing John all the way up the mountain. You won't need any Friends to help you, if you reduce your speed. Shoot ahead of John, and let him fly into your bullet stream. The "Reduce Your speed" tip is helpful with the flight of Nick Rye's plane through the river gorge, as well. Good luck to all.
Hello, first post, but I must rant. Please forgive me, or share my pain.
This was probably one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had, and it sucks because it could have been so good. I was enjoying the game up until this mission, plenty able to brush aside the occasional bugs, but now I get why so many people rag on Ubisoft. For such a pivotal moment in the game, you'd think you'd work out the kinks instead of leaving it the mess it is.
First, like others, John kept going out of bounds and I'd spawn back in the air. Finally, John said he was going down, so I landed my plane... but he didn't land. Then a helicopter crashed into my plane as I was running to get back in it and it exploded. Then random cultists killed me again.
Spawned at the helicopter pad. Because the resistance meter was full, cultists spawned immediately wherever I did. So, they blew up my helicopter as soon as I got in it.
Fast traveled to John's ranch, the plane hadn't reappeared. Sure was quiet there though! Fast traveled to Nick's and got in his plane, which started a new mission, with the same dialog that never failed to repeat itself each time I died and spawned again, despite switching back over to the Wrath mission.
Tried killing all the cultists at Nick's Hanger when I spawned, then ordered a plan... but the cultist planes blew it up immediately (repeat several times to varying degrees of success).
Dear lord. What the hell. So sick of this loading screen.
Eventually went back to the helicopter pad and John was finally on the ground again and it took almost nothing to kill him.
Then throughout the remainder of freeing the captives in the bunker, that same dang dialog from Nick's mission kept playing each time I died and spawned again, about how I could go get another plane if I needed to.
Wow wow wow.
