They really need to allow "mouse steering" (like they have on the helicopters) as a keyboard/mouse option on the airplanes! (Can you imagine an airline pilot repeatedly jerking the yoke IOT make a turn!? No bark-bag unused on that flight! Maybe that's how they fly in Montana?)
Best setup (for me) would be mouse for elevation and roll, W and S keys for power, and A and D keys for rudder. But... that'll never happen.
[QUOTE=jztemple7;13405565]I'm on the mission "Wrath", where I have to shoot down John Seed's plane. I've tried several times (on Easy!) and just can't do it. The best I've gotten is to give it about 2/3rd damage and then either we collide or my plane blows up. Is there some simpler way to beat this mission. I cannot quit the mission so right now I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
Man i gotta say i did this in my first try. I guess practice your flying a while then try again. It wasnt difficult at all...

I got lucky with this one in the end... failed about 20 times... Just as I was about to smash my controller against a wall, I had one last try... crashed my plane accidentally into John's and somehow managed to survived. Took all of John's plane health and dropped to the ground, shot his parachute and he died on impact 😂
Horrible mission lol
Tried this mission I don't know 8 times. The shooter controls oversteer or understeer like crazy. You want to roll? How about a 3-5 second delay on that. That's just poor controls.john ends up flying circles around you while you are trying to just find his plane. I put it on classic and first try I beat this mission. Stayed on his tale with ease, shot the shooter out in a few seconds. The plane actually rolls when you press the button not waiting 3 seconds to start rolling. I can tell you with BF4, GTA V, I have played my fair share of games in the sky, never have I had this much trouble and gotten this upset with flying in a game. Great you got lucky or hired the pilot. Doesn't mean the controls are trash, when clearly it's a pattern with people. Ubisoft, save your customers the frustration and just auto set the pilot controls to classic.Originally Posted by Jayy1020 Go to original post
Anyone else manage to complete this one without flying?
On maybe my third attempt, I'd gotten so frustrated that I simply landed the plane, got out, and walked away. I expected to see a big red Mission Failed screen. Instead, I heard John Seed over the radio, telling me to get back in my plane and fight. I figure this has to be it, he'll warn me a couple times, then I'll get the screen. Then I hear him over the radio again, this time sounding as though he's been hit and his plane is going down. At this point, the Mission Indicator has gone from Destroy John's Plane to Get The Bunker Key. Eventually I hoof it over to John's bunker, where I encounter various cult members. Sharky and Jess, my Guns for Hire, have turned up, having been unavailable while I was in the air. We're fighting right outside the entrance to the bunker when I turn around and there's John. I get off a couple shots with my .50 cal, but it looks like he's got me. I fall back to take a Medkit, the screen turns gray, and I here again I'm waiting for a Mission Failed screen.
That's when the cut scene kicks in, John Seed delivers his parting speech, and then expires.
I searched around but didn't find an example of anyone else having a similar encounter. Did I just get lucky with a glitch?
I love the handling of the planes - using gamepad on PC - performing immelman and other acrobatic tricks is easy, of course need to keep speed and altitude up. It is bit different from the other flight sim controls out there but for an arcade style game it is great imho !
Also agree with another poster that you can practice flying for hours if you want to get all the controls down pat, in reality though it does not take very long to get the hang of it. Only thing bit tricky is how roll and yaw are linked on the same x axis but you get used to it.
