I dont agree that Kensei is OP, but he needs some tweaks. I hooked up on Kensei after the rework and i like it, but everyone have to admit that playing him is much easyer than fighting against him.
Honestly.. i know his moveset and what he's capable of but fighting against him(especialy if a decent player plays him) is ridiculously hard.
I agree with the concern that the Dev. team hammered one aspect of the character. But my problem with him is that the transition between the top heavy + top heavy ub soft feint to side heavy's animation is like non existent so u dont even have a chance. Thats my biggest problem with him. The second is his zone... something has to be done with that. Not making it useless, but maybe reduce its first hit dmg or make it 100ms slower.
Well, last weekend I tried Kensei to understand, what is all about. And here things I want to write here:
1. I played on Kensei to rep 1 in season 1. Than tried him again in season 4. And all the time I was really bad with him. That was hard to land an attack and 80% of thing I did were blocked or parried. Side dodge attack were useless most times.
2. My last try with Kensei was compleatly different. I can end a match with 20 kills and 1 death. I killed 4 different Shamans with gear stats from 80 to 180. One of them were destroed by simple tactic. I waited her to made jump attack and just do dodge attack, it so easy to do. And that's all. I could easily stand 3v1.
3. I don't know what changes for Kensei in detail, I played not so much time on him. But I could say, that now playing and killing on Kensei is easy as hell. You can kill people just use his zone attack. But, as I said, I don't know why it's happend. I loose to everyone on Kensei in season 4 and I killed everyone with him now in season 5. And I don't even opened his move list. So play on him now really easy. He is like assassin but without this annoying vanishing guard. If it's not mean OP, I don't really know what to say.
4. Played on Kensei helped me to be fine, when I loose them on my Warden. Cause if I, have no clue how to play on this char can kills Shamas as little babies, so player who main Kensei should be Gods now and have very low numbers of weaknesses.
5. To all who says "Don't listen that cry babies, that lost 2-3 fight against new Kensei", I can understand you. You, probably played on Kensei a lot, wait him to be good. I, probably, feel the same way, when it will so easy to kill people on Warden.
Hi There,
This answer is for all people talking there on this subject.
First, i am a Kensei Main and i was already before the rework. What i can say is that i don't feel better now, it is just a bit easier against low level player but Kensei was already a noob crusher.
But, against a smart and skill player, i don't feel much more OP.
I already had a good K/D with Kensei before the rework.. like i said, the new kensei really change 3 things in my opinion :
-he is now a god noob crusher
-i have to admit it is hard to fight against him for assassins, clearly (lights are too fast)
-now, even an average player can get good score with Kensei
To be honest, his kind of 50/50 is not the OP Part of kensei as if you're just a bit patient you can escape from all things he can do, whatever he does (GB, Release the Unblocable, heavy of soft feints).
I think, even as a main kensei that if he get nerf in the futur, it should just be on the speed of his second light after a dash and on the speed of his zone.
All the others things, kensei already had : Good dammages, speed, reach, Hyperarmor, Unblocable, Dash, Feints game .
I believe people gonna stop complain about kensei very soon, as they just have to adapt their game to the new kensei, as when a new hero is released.
You just have to be clever against kensei and force him to dash and punish him![]()
I admit it is very hard for assasins like PK, Glad or Shinobi.
GG friends !![]()
Well, I could agree with you on assassins thing. While I can kill every single hero with Gladiator (I started play on him in S5), I loose to Kenseis 3 from 5. Not in duels, I don't like duels.First, i am a Kensei Main and i was already before the rework. What i can say is that i don't feel better now, it is just a bit easier against low level player but Kensei was already a noob crusher.
But if you think that 32 rep Raider with 110 rep overall could be noob, so I don't know. The main thing about my post, that is I'm compleatly noob with Kensei. I got like...32 gear on him and I totally crushed 32 rep Raider with 180 gear, 18 rep Shaman and two Wardens with 90 and 180 gear (don't remember rep).
This guy have some attacks AOE, what makes him advantaged in 1vX fights.
So if me, big noob with this char could kill so many heroes that obviously where mains for that players or near it, how could you explain this?
Yes i know Kensei is a hard matchup for Assasins ... I totally agree on this point.
And of course people like the ones you talk about are not noobs.. but on the paper ^^ I mean i am a rep 72 overall and i've already destroy some players with more than 100rep, 200rep and even 300 rep on time..
In another hand i've already get totally ****ed up by a rep 32 overall ...:/
What i want to say is that skill is not always a question of time played , did you check the K/D ratio of these guys on FH Tracker ?
If they just land top heavy at the same time you gonna get revenge and revenge again and kill them![]()
Sometimes people are good alone but a lot of people are not playing smartly in 2vs1 or more and the opponent can get advantage from that.
And, like you said and it's right, Kensei can do damn good AOE dammages with his range and hyperarmor
BTW, Kensei is very good for 1vs X but playing kensei really not always save your *** believe me.. SKILL save your *** overall.
Look two days ago i won a 1vs2 (with kensei) against two Raiders.. One was rep 34 (raider) and good but the other was rep 1 and doing ****.. that's why.
I also crush an Aramusha/Shaman duo with my Valk and a Zerk/PK and a Sham/Highlander duo with my PK.. so it is all about skill.
One time i even kick *** of 3 cents with Valk XD... and even if i think i've got good skills i am not a top player at all !
But if you're a Glad main, 1vs X is not always easy as assassins have vanished guard.. Kensei has a fix gaurd With the mobility ok an assassins :/![]()
Well, yeas, you'll never know how good players could be, even if they have a lot of rep. But still I can't say that I could perform Kensei's level of play with Raider, Shinobi or any else char that I never or barely touched. Sure I know how to play overall, maybe it's help, but still. What i want to say is that skill is not always a question of time played , did you check the K/D ratio of these guys on FH Tracker ?
I'll try to play on Kensei in future, what to see what will happen.
In that point I just try to say that there are not really OP or not. I remembred how terrible was centurion with...everyhing in S2, for suffered we all from distance GB of Shinobi. But in the end of S2 I can beat both DLC chars with my Warden. It's mean, just a matter of time when you skill will be compared with new mechanics.I also crush an Aramusha/Shaman duo with my Valk and a Zerk/PK and a Sham/Highlander duo with my PK.. so it is all about skill.
But so I could say Shaman still looks strange. Same as really rediculous Bers rework. And same with Kensei, didn't say he is OP, sure we still can beat him, but now it's really easier to play on him, and I don't know its for good or for bad.
I main almost all knights. Love them.=) And Orochi and Highlander for orders on their fractions. But if you're a Glad main, 1vs X is not always easy as assassins have vanished guard.. Kensei has a fix gaurd With the mobility ok an assassins
Yup, Kensei hit me right through my blocks ALL the time. I HATE when I’m having a perfect game, then die from a heavy overhead that I CLEARLY blocked. Such BSOriginally Posted by xAnaToMx Go to original post
I respond to you Space, just start on the forum and don't know how to share part of your answer like you do XD
I can just agree with you, with the new kensei, you can score good game even if you're rep 1 with more easier than many others char.. maybe except Sham
And people just gonna be use to this new Kensei step by step like the Cent... Cent was a Monster Destroyer in Season 2 .. it was ridiculously easy to kill everyone withBut now ... poor cent ^^
My faction is Knights too, love them as well, but good choice for Highlander![]()
P.S : If you have tips for Glad ! I love him but in 4vs4 i am not too good with him.. only in One/one :/
But still, while we can get use to new Kensei, Zerc rework awful and...don't make any sense. It's what about OP.And people just gonna be use to this new Kensei step by step like the Cent... Cent was a Monster Destroyer in Season 2 .. it was ridiculously easy to kill everyone with But now ... poor cent
Glad have a lot good moves. When in 4v4, you could be good as 1vX and still Xv1. I see a lot turtles, who just stand against 2-3 heros, wait for revenge. In this case just use Sucker Punch, it will unblockable, hard to react and stun opponent for a moment. It will be enough for teammate to deal dmg.P.S : If you have tips for Glad ! I love him but in 4vs4 i am not too good with him.. only in One/one :/
And when 1vX I just become patient, wait the gunkers move. Parry and shield bash are your friends, same as zone attack.
