Co-op Bug: Character breathing like they're injured non-stop

Hi all. My friend and I got through Dutch's island and decided to coop a bit. He sent me an invite, I joined his game, and we both spawned on the radio tower of Dutch's island. The thing is, my character is breathing like they're injured non-stop, even though I am at full health.

We've tried restarting both our games, restarting our computers, and verifying the game cache on Steam. We've tried connecting to each others games in different areas, playing without each other going in to different regions and then reconnecting, turning the volume all the way down and then back up, but my character just keeps breathing like they're injured. This ONLY happens when I join his game - it does not happen when he joins mine.

In addition, when I am in his game, sometimes when I am injured and heal myself the screen still flashes red like I am injured until I get downed and revived - it even does it during cutscenes. Even when we trick the game in to realizing I am healed so the red flashing disappears, I am still constantly making the injured breathing sound.

We've now played for a good 5 hours, have been all over Hope County doing all kinds of missions, and it still hasn't gone away.

Is anyone else getting this issue, or do the community members know of a fix?

Thanks very much for your time.

    Hey there,

    similar problem..
Can't heal above 80% hp, health bar flashes red all the time when my friend is the host. When i've been downed my screen keeps on flashing red until i re-join his game.

    Other way around works fine..sucks

Judging from the forums and from streams I watched, it's a very common issue.

Be sure to submit a bug report hopefully it will be addressed in a patch - http://support.ubi.com/en-AU/Cases/New
