I believe there was a misunderstanding here. I said that current community sentiment around Centurion is that he needs a buff. As far as the balance changes from the team go, the team is still monitoring how the recent Season 5 changes have effected Centurion and are looking at player feedback.Originally Posted by Danish_Crusader Go to original post
There's no doubt that Centurion is frustrating and that he deals quite a bit of damage. I used to have a rather rough time dealing with him and still do on occasion with higher rep and skill level Centurions. This is why I'm suggesting you give him a try yourself. It makes it far easier to anticipate what Centurion will do and how to bait out certain reactions from them when you know exactly what to look for.
There is no misunderstanding.Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
He has too much damage, too much stamina drain and too much control in a wallsplatter scenario. Or did you miss the part where he removed 60% of my health from a single parry punish?
There is no way that is fair.
But I've said my piece, I've shown the video, and I will never play the Centurion, I hate everything he is. I will stick to my warden, and await the nerf you are likely going to give them.
Ok, I would have zero problem if the current game state had no issues and bugs and certain broken mechanics, Unfortunately this is not the case and obviously certain classes benefit from that. Sometimes because of these broken mechanics and bugs a Centurion will blow you up with one combo. Other than that he can be avoided, side doge works for his unblockables but because of terrible networking you don't trigger it in time when you're pressing it. *Cough*Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
Two things we can get clear from this thread:
1- Don't tell users to "git gut" specially if you are a moderator from Ubisoft and you are just ****ING WRONG. Not cool, man, not cool...
2- Centurion is basically crap, with a killer unstopable combo, which makes him a spammy crap that everybody hates...
Good job Ubisoft, I hope you finally understand you have a lot of work to do with this character also...
They never told him wrong. they gave him some tips as far as what to expect. Also centurion is fine where he is. He is annoying and meant to be that way. At least he does not throw you off anymore and plunge at you after his leap and gb right off the bat like he used to.Originally Posted by b1gb4d0rc Go to original post
Totally what ^this guy^ said. This is the post I should have done but couldn't.Originally Posted by Veerdin-Wraith Go to original post
I'm all for giving Centurion a buff, on the condition that you also get rid of his cutscene move in the process, or at least make it so that you can react to it once it starts. That's really what's so frustrating about it: That sudden realisation of "Oh, well, crap." The moment the Centurion manages to land the opening hit. At that point, you might as well go and make a cup of coffee or something because you sure as hell won't be playing the damn game any time soon.
Taking control away from your players is always a risky move; Nobody likes it. And here we have a character that can not only take control away from you by landing just one hit, but can take that control away for several seconds, decimate your stamina and utterly destroy your HP at the same time. Against lighter characters, the Centurion's cutscene move is often followed up with some quick spam that results in a fast kill on a person who basically can't do anything to stop it.
And let's not forget any fight against multiple people! In 1v1? Sure, I'll grant you that you can learn the timing on Centurion's attacks and just parry/dodge him. But if you're like, oh, I dunno, most of the damn playerbase and you prefer to play in 2v2s and 4v4 fights, suddenly the ability to stunlock somebody following one attack becomes insane! If you're fighting somebody and suddenly a Centurion charges in from stage left, hits you with an attack you had no real way of countering, and then stunlocks you for the next 5-ish seconds? You might as well just get up and leave because while Kicky McCutscene is giving you an impromptu Latin lesson and expanding your options for breathing holes, you can bet your backside his friends are going to be wailing on your prone, helpless, soon-to-be-dead body. Centurion's cutscene deals enough damage by itself! Getting smacked around the whole time will basically ensure that it becomes a one-move-wonder.
Buff Centurion, by all means. Give him more health, more mixups, more defensive and offensive options, more speed, do all of that! He could probably use them! Just so long as you get rid of that annoying combo move.
