Is auto save a thing in Far Cry 5?

I haven't seen any particular icons pop up yet or anything, so does Far Cry 5 have a similar autosave System like Far Cry 3 and 4?

Or do I have to continue to manually save the game from the Start Menu?

There seems to bee an autosave when you reach and die ant an event/mission.

It doesn't say anything but it is a thing. You can see 3 dots at the very top right corner of the screen when it saves. Hard to spot those but you can manually save and you'll see how it looks like.

Yes!! I thought I was the only one that saw those little tiny three dots in the upper right hand corner. Plus they're freaking White!

    Auto save fail!!

The game has auto-saved as I fell to my death and I am in a loop of dying within 2 seconds of it reloading. I would usually just fast travel somewhere but it happens so quick that the playstation wont even respond. Looks like I'm starting the game all over again! FFS!

I recommend manual save by pausing the game and press X on save.

    About autosave

    Hi,

I've played Far Cry 5 now about a few hours and i've been thinking about the autosave too.

It is good if you die that the autosave makes it sure that you don't need to do so much again.
But because there are no save slots, the autosave makes it difficult to just test something in the open world
and to return to "normal" game. I mean if i decide to check some place and actually don'w want to continue my game there.
Then i happen to die in that place and autosave overwrites my save game. Nice.

I noticed that it should be possible to turn off the auto save in the gamerprofile.xml file (in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 5).
There seems to be there a setting like autosave=1.

The best would be if Ubisoft could add normal save slots in the game and a possibility to load the game too, not just continue.

I make a copy of my saved games at times. Like after a long gaming stretch, so I can't lose much if the auto saves craps out.

Where are the save game files of Far Cry 5 located? I haven't found them.

    At least in Windows 10:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\***********\1803"
