The crashing has returned, same way as before. Not reinstalling my drivers again. Ubisoft/NVIDIA needs to fix this.

Edit: So, I held true to my threat of not reinstalling drivers this time, somehow got the game running. Verified the files, deleted the settings file in the cache folder in Uplay, and deleted the profile in My Documents. It "reinstalled" the DirectX, NetFramework, etc, for the nth time and it booted up and is still running.

I have absolutely no idea what is causing such a catastrophic driver crash that is fixed by those things I've listed above. I have been running borderless and maybe it switching back to that is a problem. I won't this time and will see how it goes when I run it tomorrow.

Well...it crashed again :/. Played problem free for 6 hours last night. Logged on today..tried out arcade mode for a hour, jumped into campaign mode, played for 1 hour, did the 'false prophet' mission, burnt the book at the end, mission complete...20 secs later crash, monitors die...need to reset.

So i got nfi what the problem is...i could try running bordered, or turn the gfx down....i don't think it will matter. Random crap like this is near impossible to pinpoint...lets hope ubisoft can find something on their end that might help.

Anyone with crashes try to lower your graphics settings to low and slowly start to turn graphics settings to medium and high one by one. There could be some culprit with shaders or memory leaks that is my guess.

Please test if it has any help, for me it helped somehow.

So I was able to get it to start for the first time today by making sure I set the resolution to 1080p before quitting the game, thus starting it at 1080p and then upping it to 4k resolution after the game has loaded. So far, that has worked for me (I haven't played with the graphics qualities yet, as this has worked, but if I continue to have problems that'll be my next step).

I had the same problem when the game was out, I played about 10 or 15 minutes then the game that closed completely with the message of Uplay (oooops the game to crash).

I tried everything, no results, I could not play more than 15 minutes.

Then I remembered that my processor was overclocking, it's the only thing I had not tried, I put it back without overclock and... BINGO the crash stopped.

It's still strange that FC5 does not support overclocking can be because I have an Intel, because all the games I play for several monthly I never have this problem with my overclocking same with KCD.

My screen would shut off when I started the game. Wouldn't even get to the main menu. After changing a bunch of settings I turned HDR off in windows and now it's working so far. Pretty lame...

Could you try doing a fresh install of the graphics drivers

    To do this:
    1. completely uninstall the graphics drivers, there are steps to do so here.
    2. Reinstall the drivers fresh from the Nvidia Website.

Once you have don that please try the game again.
