    Yer it was happening randomly.

OK..i verified files...game worked fine for just over an hour so that might of fixed it. Going to install new NV drivers and see if I get any more improvement.

MM...I have a feeling ppl should re install their drivers (get lastest or 2nd latest...havent tried new one yet) do that...then verify files. Probably should matter I guess but I have a feeling its the reason it worked.

Ill update my status after I install new drivers and let u guys know

Same here. Game starts from the splash and randomly crashes when loading. Gotten as far as redoing the initial install, updating drivers, and able to load the main menu, but as soon as it starts loading the game it crashes. Says the NVIDIA driver stopped working and disables my monitors. Done with this until Ubisoft decides to fix this. Unacceptable.

Could be the same problem but you not even getting into the game. Just try to reinstall drivers and verify game files. If still no good...might need to wait for ubisoft to patch. Make sure you have no OC or anything on also as this could but a cause.

As for my self, new NV drivers are fine and no more crashes anyway...played another hour so looking good atm.

Glad you got it working on your end, did all that stuff above. Just have to wait for another patch (since after this past update, it screwed everything up, it worked flawlessly yesterday for me). Not going to risk bricking my video card.

*Edit: I did a second complete reinstall of my graphics drivers and the game is starting to work again. It ran for 30 minutes, no problems. Although I have seen multiple threads in various forums about random crashes, so I won't call a complete victory yet. But it is a marked improvement. Very frustrated that I spend an evening troubleshooting this that I could have spent actually enjoying the game...

Ubisoft, here's a tip, whatever that last update was, undo that. You'll fix a lot of these problems.

15 hours in, hadn't had this problem up until (spoiler block just in case)
    Spoiler:  Show
    I was fighting Faith
then it just black screened and as said by op, only a restart fixes it. After the crash I installed the new nvidia driver and verified game files but to no avail.

I now think it has more to do with drivers than anything else.

Because ShadowPlay records without any breaks. And when image goes black, it goes with colorful garbage.
