have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Uplay client ?

    1) In your task manager, find the following process: UbisoftGameLauncher.exe, and end the process.
    2) After that, uninstall and reinstall Uplay PC from uplay.ubi.com , as this will update the client.

go to add remove programs in control panel \ programs and features

remove the Uplay launcher ( uninstall it )

open your PC to where it was installed make sure all folders are removed and deleted,
you may have to manually delete them ..not your games .. just the Uplay launcher

    NOW ..

REBOOT YOUR PC (IMPORTANT STEP ) < ---------------

    NEXT

Download the updated Uplay launcher from the Uplay web page
you can get it here https://uplay.ubisoft.com

install it ... and try your game again

    Same issue as everyone else

Guess I know why it’s on sale now..
I wonder if I can get my money back because it’s not working, if I try all these supposed fixes much longer I’ll have run the game too long to have steam refund me.

I just did the Uplay reinstall, still doesn’t work.

Thanks for wasting my time, I submitted a ticket and requested a refund.

Looks like you’re selling a broken product to me.

I'm sorry to hear you've encountered this issue Sol-ninja.

I would advise waiting for a response back on your ticket as we cannot process refunds over the forums.

In the future, please refrain from necro-ing old threads.

    Apologies for any inconvenience.

"In the future, please refrain from necro-ing old threads."???!!!!!

Really?! HOW ABOUT FIX THE PROBLEM EVERYONE IS HAVING WITHIN 3 YEARS?! Idont see one single useful reply to a clearly endemic issue. I too am running a RX 480. It is pretty obvious it is an AMD driver issue. FIX it! Or tell us how to besides the same old basic troubleshooting mantra. I even upgraded my CPU, RAM, and Mobo. Still no.luck. I fact it played better on my FX-9590 w/DDR3 than it does on a Zen 3 with 16GB of DDR4!

It is not hardware related or internet. It's not.like I cam get a new GPU. I would be lucky to find one as good as the 480. It plays Squadrons in VR fine and other much newer games. Telling people to send and wait for a reply from a ticket is a slap in the face. Just don't bother replying. I'm sure as in many of these developer forums, one of the people having the issue will discover and share the FIX eventually. There is prob a reason this "necro" thread is at the top of Google search results when you search "far cry 5 running slow". Get on it! I've already wasted hours and hours of my ti.e to use something I paid too much for, it's the least you can do!
