A Day 1 purchase? Of a Ubisoft game? Before any reviews have come out?

Has The Division taught you nothing? o_O

after purchasing Origins and then the pass after I completed the game, and the way The Division brought me back, yes, I did already buy FC5 Gold. I like to play games when i'm not working, not read reviews for a year, it's under $100.00, i'll get my money's worth ten times over. Compared to bungie, it's easy to buy ubi games.

Well, it's your call, obviously. To each his own. Personally, I've learned to be much more careful with my money, not to buy into the hype no matter how much I want to believe it, and to wait for reviews and gauging of players' receptions before making a purchase decision. That goes for any game, not just those from Ubisoft.

That's very smart, and understandable. To each their own indeed. For me it completely depends on different things. Sometimes I board the hype train, sometimes I need 2 hours of gameplay vids, or a beta/demo.

For the division 2, I'll pre order the moment I can. Same for The Last of Us part 2, based on previous experiences. For Red Dead redemption 2, I'll wait and see if Rockstar will turn it in Cash grab 2 like GTA:O.

For Far Cry 5 however, I gambled a bit. I've never played any of the games, but this one looks really good to me, so I pre ordered it. I'll let you know in a week or so if it was the right choice or not.

Same here I totally understand ,
it has Ubisoft on the box Box, it's micro transactions/loot boxes are vanity and progression based the second part is a big no no.they are making it out that being able to play the campaign offline is something special (that should be it's standard) straight out of the box.

The mechanics look like Wildlands to me, i'll wait and see if it has staying power or just another one of those play it for 2 weeks and give up on it games.

Seen some gameplay and it seems better than previous Farcrys. It's still go here do that but you can do it out of order if you get my meaning no more tower thing. It's a few weeks gaming at most but you can have a dog or bear as a companion. Or I can just run Lex 6 million times lol.

If you never played a Farcry game.... I guess you will enjoy it. I played FC3, while it was fun at first it just got so boring and uninteresting that I stopped about 3/4ths of the way through. Not really a fan of the Open world games because we can. It just feels like everything else, GTA, Red Dead, Wildlands, etc.
