Game would crash in 2nd loading screen or 10-30 seconds into the game

Since i hate when people don't post the fix to their problems, here i am. Posting a fix!

Game would crash in 2nd loading screen or 10-30 seconds into the game and could still hear music in the background. I would have to control+alt+delete my way out.

Bought this game about 3 days ago on steam and probably played 1 hour in total because of this issue. Was going back and forth with ubi support chat with their 1-2 hour wait. time was painstaking.

FIX: Rolled back nvidia drivers 2 releases back to verison 390.77 of January 29, 2018. you can find them here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

    Here is my PC specs:
    8700k i7
    MSI Z370
    (RAM) 16.0 GB
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

I also want to add that what made me think this was a driver issue was because i went into event manager in windows and saw that the PC complained that the graphics driver failed and resumed. "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Any thoughts for those of us who don't have Nvidia graphics cards?

Hey the_rainforest, have you tried deleting the cache folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache ?

Like the post prior, try deleting the cache.

If that doesn't work look at the windows event manager and try to line up the date and time the crash happened. look for any errors at the time the crash happened.
