I was having the same issue since about 3/24/18
What finally worked for me was setting both GRW.exe and rungame.exe to compatibility mode Windows 8.
I just got mine working again today. Hope this helps!
I just want to add that I am having the exact same issue. Popup box opens, Preparing..... Syncronizing.........then the windows closes. That's it. Please help
Hey guys, if deleting the cache folder doesn't help, these steps may help. You can also try reinstalling uplay. If none of that works, please create a ticket with MSINFO and DXDIAG files. Thanks!
I fixed the issue by setting GRW.exe to run as administrator by going to properties->Compatibiity->Change settings for all users->Run program as administrator (note that I also tried other steps before like clearing cache, reparing EAC, and reinstalling both game and Ubisoft Connect, so one of them may have helped but it did not fix the problem).
