HERO win loss duel chart. My Take on it.

So I'm looking at the chart they showed on the warriors den. while this is a really cool chart, its very inaccurate on what heroes are actually doing well and need buffs. reason why i say this is because there are a couple factors missing on this. one is the amount of players playing the class and also the rep level of the people playing. basically avg rep and player base of each class. ill explain the reason why this is so important. the best example of this is the valk. I'm sure nobody would argue that there are much less valk players than most other heroes. lets take warden for example, prob one of the more played classes in the game. so the chances are that the wardens player base is more 50/50 from new to old players(prob more older players than new on warden), new players bring down the win percents and the older players bringing it up. (of course the newer and better the hero, the more newer players will play them) some vet players will switch to them but most will stick with their original heroes. why would a new player ever play a valk or an orochi when they can play a much better hero. so my theory is that there are more players playing the better heroes at a lower level. now the valk player base is mostly going to be the die hard day one players who have been playing the valk forever and they just don't want to stop playing them(why would a new player ever put themselves through the torture of learning the valk when they have so many better options). so when you see the chart say 50-50 win percent valk vs gladiator(I'm just throwing this number out as example) its comparing the veteran players on the valk vs the new and old player base of the glad. so the fact that veterans on the valk are only winning 50 percent vs these noob gladiator players is tricking you into thinking that the valk is a good balanced hero when in reality if there were as many players and newer players playing the valk then your probably looking more at a 30% valk win and a 70% glad win. well, this is just my theory.

Orochi will and cent will stomp new players and get the percents up but when you vs players at a higher level the orochi will completely drop off in the percent wins. so maybe orochi can win 70% games among the new player base, but put him up against the higher tier and I'm sure he's around 30% win(bringing his avg win to 50%). i really hope the devs are looking at it this way and not just straight percent numbers. why should someone who wants to play an orochi in high tier games not be able to just because the lower tier players are owning noobs with him and the chart says he's 50% avg win overall. so he won't get a buff because he wins 50% - prob 70% low tier and 30% high tier. I'm sure if you buff the orochi so the top tier players can actually compete with her that it really won't effect the win rate of the lower players that much anyway. all heroes should be more balanced based on players above rep 50 in my opinion. this will give a much better balance than balancing heroes based on new players. balance heroes based on skill 50 player level and up and then the heroes will be actually balanced based on the true skill of the heroes. sorry this is long but please think about this ubi... I'm assuming you have. but it would be good to add these things in the chart for the community as well. maybe give us win loss percentages in 3 different player level brackets, 0-20 21-60 61-up. Id love to see the difference on the percents this way. all players eventually will hit these higher levels and those are the players that should be rewarded the best balanced heroes. if your level 50 or up I'm sure you in the game for the long haul so please try to balance the heroes based on these more loyal players levels. balancing the game on people under rep 10 just does not make any sense at all to me. at that point players don't really know what their doing anyway. thanks!

I can't read all that wall of text. You should learn how to use paragraphs properly.

The stats are based on the top 2.5% of players, probably by account MMR. There is no need for mixing in reputation in this, which doesn't represent player skill at all.

While I agree it's not an accurate rep for balance by it's own account rep isn't factored in because it's meaningless. 2.5% of what they're skill agorithim says is what matters.
Some normalization of sample size had to be done to not skew things as much as possible.

The chart isn't the only factor in their decision for changes. Nor was it a post for who was the best/worst hero. it was just an informational thing that was nice for us to have as a community for viewing.
