I’ve always been a believer in perma death.
If you can lose something, you appreciate that it much more, you look after it - stronger bond see?
But when something can never die, it completely kills that dynamic dead.
Reading an article that Boomer can’t die, or I think any Gun for Hire. ..
Can I formerly request that on the HARD DIFFICULTY SETTING, that Guns for Hire, Fangs for Hire have perma death? Or an option for that?
Makes your relationship with them so much more meaningful.
Because, for example, if Boomer cannot die, then there is never a situation which I tell him to stay put, believing he would be at risk.
If he can’t die, then I’m sending him in EVERYTIME. How I use him or any Gun for Hire completely changes — they become cannon fodder rather than a compelling companion.
I fully agree with that, except I'd rather not have options like this tied to the hard difficulty setting, What if you want mortal companions but a more relaxed game?
An option that works on every difficulty would be best. It still feels like a cheat on easy.
But yeah, immortal teammates bug the hell out of me, It stopped me taking them in fallout 4.
Ahhhh totally the same brother. It bothered the hell out of me too in Fallout.Originally Posted by Cosmo_bozo Go to original post
I can remember my companion in Skyrim - was with me on so many adventures, saved my life once or twice! When he died at the battle of Windhelm, it was freakin epic! After the battle was over, I walked through the streets, and eventually found his body. Emotional moment!
If he was immortal - they’d of been none of that....
