Can anyone please advise if there is a way to upgrade specific gear that's lower tear i.e purple to gold and teal? There are armor sets that were specialized for the season like Age of Wolves that were only available for a certain time. So if you get those items with a character who isn't as ranked as another, the gear will be a lower grade. As you progress and level that character up, will there be a way to level up the armor as well from purple to gold and teal? Since those items no longer drop, it would seem only fair to be able to continue leveling the armor to match your character. Currently, there is a cap on how high you can mak

I don't recommend spending any steel on gear until you are rep 9 when you hit the max gear stat level.

Keep the item if you like the model. Sometime in the future it may be possible to use a low tier gear model to replace the look of a high tier gear model.

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently a Rep 6 with my Shugoki and got the Onyx drops for him, but so far no gold versions of that gear. So I was unsure if they'll eventually drop or since it was offered on a limited basis like the fireworks emote, gone for good.

From what I've experienced, you can only change the look of an item that's in the same color class.

Currently, yes. The devs have said on the Den a few times that they are looking into ways of changing this.
