Warlord - UBI what did you do?

Recently came back since the release of dedicated serves and been playing nonstop since. I mained a Raider, but decided to let him go as I felt that he was way too predictable a character even back in S1. Stunning tap always comes from the top and is the only reliable attack after a cancel so people know to always guard up and against a raider that already creates a disadvantage for him since all his attacks are easily readable and predictable. His only major damage dealing move (Zone) is so massively telegraphed that attempting to let it hit is near suicide. Anyway, this play style grows old very quickly.

So I decided to start up my second character. Warlord. Been playing him for two weeks now straight and spent nearly 20k+ steel on him getting him up to speed. Something felt awfully off with him though and the first thing I noticed is that I can count on one hand how many other warlords I have encountered and that was in dominion. Well little did I know about the nerf he received a ways back since I was gone since middle of S2 if I remember. At first I was like eh it can't be that bad. By Odin's beard was I wrong. So so wrong. Decided to finally read up on the nerfs and watch youtube discussion on it. No wonder I only see a handful of Warlords in dominion only. Hes practically unplayable!

Still I continued to go into games with him for two weeks straight and been doing almost nothing but duels with him for the past 5 days. The high recovery times are death in the wake of the unblockable spam meta. His damage is practically non-existent. To give you an example In order to bring down an opponents health to the half way mark you need basically expend nearly all your stamina and that's only if most of your attacks connect. Good luck connecting all of them. Compare that to any other character that can tear a warlord apart in seconds without nearing exhausting despite his so called high health and armor.

The headbutt nerf is actually welcome. I never used it and did always think its far too fast. But his shield crush being dumbed down to 20pts? why even use it? 20 stam pts is nothing. 1.8 stam regen deleay? pointless as any other character can dodge accross the map in seconds while exhausted. Compare the stamina drain with any other characters like Shugoki, Conq, gladiator, cent etc and its not even comparable.

I understand they are re-working the original heroes, but Warlord as its stands right now needs to be addressed ASAP. Until then he'll be collecting dust while I play the highlander. Honestly these dlc heroes are a joke. Simply choosing to use them automatically increase your win chance.

Headbutt was nerfed, but they changed it back because they made it completely useless.

Thank god, it;s not just me....

Thank god, it;s not just me....
Every time i play Warlord I already felt at a disadvantage, but I thought i was just not experienced enough with him, however the longer i played the more i saw him lacking. Every fight is a bloody uphill battle, He hits like a wet noodle, his unblockable is easyly dodged and countered, has low combo counter (that is if can even get those two hits to begin with), his so called superior block is barely usable, his lights are slow af.

I dunno, but the little time i started playing him, it feels like there are other classes that can do his job far better. Medium difficulty my ***... to win with with him you gotta make 90% of your decisions with premptive prediction and 10% hope that your opponent tries to attack you at the same time to get the trade or out-frame them... feels bad man :/

Again I barely have 2 weeks in the game so perhaps i am overreacting, but the lack of warlords be it in duels or any other mode tells quite a bit about his viability.

I just recently started playing and my two mains are the exact two you mentioned. And I honestly have had to find ways to over come the major flaw's of both.
My best tactics so far with warlord has been open with his jumping slash pop them once more with a heavy. Then a heavy faint to the light light shield heavy then execution. I won't lie if I accidentally miss the faint or one step of the last combo just pray that you can block fast enough.

And if you are surrounded by 2 or more people on any team try to run instead of fighting. I have been killed because of my own team mates either interrupt the flow of things or go and snatch the final blow. That's the worst part of both these hero's. They are so reliant on the executions that if you have one person that constantly is a glory snatcher or around pikeman you are just a walking stat boost for others. But I have remained dedicated to the fact that I just need to protect the ram or make zone B my home and in pvp duels single combat I will have one good round. Then they figure out what they need to do to counter or when they can parry me and I am toast. I have them both at reknown level 9 almost 10.

I know there are a lot of other options for combos but I am at a disadvantage to begin with missing my thumb down to the knuckle. And my pointer finger is completely gone so some are almost impossible for me.
