The download size discrepancy between Steam and Uplay is a joke. I've had to stop playing The Division because I mistakenly bought it on Uplay and the updates were destroying my data allowance.
Ubisoft needs to start respecting people's data allowances. If they can deliver a patch on Steam at 3GB, there is absolutely zero valid reasons why they can't do it on Uplay.
And this talk about making a single patch available for new players, so they don't have to download multiple patches is BULLSH!T. Nowhere else do I have to download multiple patches when I first get a game that's been out for a year. I download a single patch which is a container for all the patches. The reality here is if Ubisoft can't deliver that kind of container download to new players and a different patch to existing players, then there is a technical deficiency within the company and their Uplay platform.
Or they have no crap governance internally, and have no idea what game files their programmers are editing, so they make us download a ton of game data to be safe... Either way, it's cr@p.
I will never understand how Ubisoft has a better product on steam than on uplay. How do you justify a more optimized build for a third part platform while not adjusting your own? In any case I am really happy that I am on steam with GRW and I will definitely not buy any Ubisoft game directly from Uplay, since the patch size difference is ridicolous.
