    Novice needs help

I had given up on this months ago but hoped someone here can help .

Uplay PC version, got about 25 hours played September last year, then i did something wrong like deleted in error so in effect i cocked up everything and lost my save, can't remember if i was previously saving offline or not, anyway the good news was just a day before i had the ****-up i did actually copy a save game to desktop as i intended to maybe play game on a different PC i have elsewhere in my house , the folder number is something like 22a06b8d-2c8af-4e60-b3c2-48705af40fca and within it, is folder 1771 and inside that its got 1.save 1.save.upload 2.save 2.save.upload, 3.save 3.save.upload 4.save 4.save.upload.

So stupid me for messing things up, but lucky me i thought for saving just before, so then i thought all i should need to restart just load from save and progress still be there, but no matter what i try it doesn't work , it always starts me at beginning new game no point/skills/progress carried over, i tried it offline and sync system, tried on original PC and different PC, but as i'm not very good at tech stuff i simply can't get it to work.

Can anyone help out , advise what i should try please.

This sounds like you may have more luck in the technical support forum for PC. But the mods here may be able to direct you better. Hope you get your game back.

What I'm guessing is that you are missing Profile Save Data.

Profile Save Data basically registers your settings, yourself as a user and owner of those save data.

No guarantee this would work, but try this:
    1. Start a new game
    2. Let the game automatically be saved and create a whole new set of Save Data for you
    3. Quit and find the new GRW save data folder
    4. Replace those Save files. Just Copy your old ones and Paste them over the new save data folder. When it asked to overwrite, click Yes. Don't delete anything from the new folder.
    5. Restart your PC just in case and start your game again

Yep, I do agree that this is pretty much what I would have initially tried to do before I seek for any further help... I believe Kane-sg hit the nail right smack dab in the middle of the head.
