Myself, now viewing the reddit as per the links Tundra shared, find myself agreeing more strongly than ever with both his and Fadys sentiments.
That Reddit thread was making my hangover get worse by the minute, especially the comments on that St. Pats day post. The video itself actually made me feel really uncomfortable, and again the comments putting those images in my mind didn’t help. Is that really what the dev team, and the community manager wants to pander too? It’s quite frankly disgusting.
What really gets me though is how the OFFICIAL Ubisoft forum gets less attention from Pope and the rest of the team, (less attention? basically no attention) asides from what our forum mods send off to them. Which really gives me the feeling that we won’t be seeing the end of this meme culture soon, as Fady mentioned, the real and mature playerbase seems to be over here.
It astounds me that we don’t see the FH devs on here, or Pope, when we discuss amazing ideas more often than the Reddit side. The team should be more diverse in finding the player bases opinions, and as Fady said they really need to open their eyes. Reddit May have more people on it, but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily better.
For the emote spam itself, I’m with BTTrinity in that personally I’d rather it be toned down a bit, or not in the game at all, but I can put up with it.
Yeah, I hate when my thumb accidentally falls of the stick or X button and lands way up on the triangle button?
Lol, wtf.
I don't know how it is on PC, but I have never once accidentally hit the e'mote button.
Don't think I've ever accidentally tripped and had sex before either, not that I would mind.
My only grief is Orochi needs a more trollish / funnier spammable e'mote.
Hahahaha, I’m on mobile so I can’t thumbs up, but I would.Originally Posted by DaLast_Samurai Go to original post
A solution I can think off, that’s probably impossible to implement and wouldn’t work off paper, is something similar too turning off effects. You can do that in setttings so you don’t see any effects, but this probably wouldn’t work as it’s a full blown animation that you have to stop appearing for the player. Personally I’d like this as some emotes bug me a lot more than others. I’d also like a mute button for some heroes, because damn their voices really really bug me. Not trying to be sexist, because I have no problem in playing female characters, like hell my Warden is a female and she’s great, but the female Shinobi and Orochi both come to mind instantly with their emote spam and voice lines while fighting.
completely agree. Emotes are becoming very annoying especially when spammed and when they stand over a dead body and dance or whatever other sick things they do. I mean what is the purpose of this? What do they gain apart from creating a toxic environement and putting people off the game
True, though this is from among the easier things to adjust, can probably even be applied in a hotfix patch without needing to recertify anything or make huge foundational changes or incorporate new models or new items in the game.Originally Posted by EvoXTalhante Go to original post
While we're at it, Ubisoft should also make it so that we can completely hide the on-screen quickchat (on both PC and consoles), that effectively hides any quick messages / manually typed messages from other players unless it's a beacon or help signal. And implement an in-game block feature for PC.
I certainly think you raise an interesting point here and I think we, as a community team, could certainly endeavor to cross-post better across the varying platforms. What you'll have to remember though is that the community team personally engages far more with the community here than on Reddit. Reddit is its own platform and we enjoy being able to share certain things or discuss certain issues there, but we take great pride in being able to engage with players on the Ubisoft forums on a more personal, granular level.Originally Posted by Tundra 793 Go to original post
That all being said, I'll certainly ensure that the point is raised with the community team though, Tundra. We want to ensure all aspects of our community are valued.![]()
