I don't know if this has been established or not (I was too lazy to read all of the pages), but you CAN get the ninth upgrade even after you've activated the two towers, because I did.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
Never argue with stupid people. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
could someone tell me how to get to the sacrificial chamber? I'm right past the point where tha sandwraith kills himself to save you from the dahaka, and I though this would be a good time to hunt down all health upgrades i can get without the scorpion sword. the sacrificial chamber is th last place I have to go but I'm not sure how to get there from the main hall that branches off to the hourglass rooms and the two towers. I'm in the past.
one last question, is it possible to toggle between past and present when playing as a sandwraith?
that's exactly the information I needed, thanks.Originally posted by ChrisLyne:
You have to point the switch towards the hall entrance (not the throne room, if you do that it just gives a bridge to the throne room door) then climb up the rocks to the balcony exit above the normal exit. Follow the path back round and you'll come to the Alter area eventually. The steps are broken, but there are some ledges in one of the side walls. After you have the life upgrade you have to exit the way you did first time (you can't go back the way you came as it involved a curtain drop). Hope that helped.
after I get the scorpion sword, I'll have to go back to get the final hp up anyway right? at which point I'll pass throught the altar on the way back.
is there a significant pause between when you get the scorpiion sword and the mask? I thought they were both located in the dungeons?
You can not get the ninth Life Upgrade until you have the Scorpion Sword from the prisons.
When you go to the Southern Passage for the Ninth Life Upgrade you have a choice how to return to the Central Access Hall.
-- If you forgot something from the Sacrificial Altar through to the Central Access Hall, then leave the Southern Passage through the rear exit, descend the curtain, jump across the spike pit, visit the Sacrificial Altar, and return by "the long way" back.
-- else just return through the "front entrance" to the balcony in the Central Access Hall ( the "short way" back. )
You determine how much time elapses between when you get the Scorpion Sword and when you get the mask.
Some people will revisit the entire island (except for the "Dahaka beach" and the Catacombs) for days or weeks looking for artwork chests, secondary bonus weapons, and missed Life Upgrades.
When you are ready to search for the mask, go to the Hourglass Chamber and the Throne Room (which then permanently closes some passageways so that you may not visit certain parts of the game any more.)
Enjoy!
*** Life Upgrade #6: (PAST)
When exploring the Mechanical Pit and Clockworks' tower, look for the giant Brute that throws explosive beasts.
You are on a front platform.
The front platform on the right has a breakable wall to a save point.
The front platform on the left has a breakable wall that leads to the sixth life upgrade.
If you have a previously saved game from around that area, you may be able to just load that saved game, get the Life Upgrade, and then quit. It should update your PROFILE.DAT that you have successfully found that Life Upgrade.
Enjoy!
