and even then Shugoki can absorb shoulder breaks.Originally Posted by Cliff_001 Go to original post
But if his armor is already gone and you get a successful bash off on him he has to take all those lights, I think he literally can't dodge away from it if he wanted to unless he unlocks and rolls away.Originally Posted by Ianoneshot Go to original post
But Wardens' can cancel it into a Guard-Break. And they often initiate Shoulder-Bash when they right up in the opponents' face. No room to dodge, and its a fifty-fifty, regardless.Originally Posted by Cliff_001 Go to original post
If you are letting him come right in front of you you are doing something wrong spacing is important. Back when the shoulder got nerfed his gb from the shoulder got its time range in the bash reduced so if he wants to gb it will have to be pretty early on into the charge, if he doesn't gb than most likely be just a regular bash or a cancel and if you are any sort of distance away it should not catch you. If you get caught in the bashes it is a guessing game because that's what the move is built about, if he has any patterns try to figure them out otherwise you could do fast lights to try and knock his out of it (but watch out he could cancel and parry) or the patented roll away. If you don't allow them to get into the sb they should be pretty screwed. The last thing's to watch out for are heavy feints, they can either let it go, go into a top light (or Possibly sides), zone, gb, or a shoulder bash and that's mostly it.Originally Posted by Archo-Vax Go to original post
In which case you can use any attack that is 500ms if your hero has one to interrupt it before the SB hits you, if it’s from neutral.Originally Posted by Archo-Vax Go to original post
Depends who you're using.Originally Posted by Archo-Vax Go to original post
In general, Warden's weaknesses are:
- A range longer than his (Nobushi, LB, Highlander, Kensei, Gladiator also counts)
- A better dodge than his (any assassin, Kensei, Raider, Conq, Valk, Highlander in OS)
- Deflects (any assassin, preferably Orochi, Valk, Shinobi, Gladiator)
- Hyperarmored attacks (Zerk, Highlander, Warlord, Shugoki)
As you can see, Zerk and Kensei shut him down easily if he's not careful and if he makes mistakes. And good Nobushis and Highlanders are scary against him.
Other than that, block to your left to halt his zone, and react to top as it's his best opener to initiate shoulderbash. If he's dodging from neutral to initiate a shoulderbash, strike with a quick light or a hyperarmored attack to bop him out of it. From there it'll fall down to him playing mind games to get around your defense.
As of season 5, Warden's SB cancel into GB poses less threat than other heroes.
Depends on the hero you play. But. Most heros can side dash knowing you're going to follow up with another bash.
If you fight a warden that always goes after a gb after the first bash lands you can just light attack him. You can also just light attack the bash start up if you are good enough.
Most wardens out there are not good enough to bait a light out and parry it after canceling SB.
If a warden also leans pretty hard on crushing counter to get the guaranteed bash you should try baiting and parrying that light.
zone cancels are usually a good way to interrupt the bash as well.
Really though you'll just need to get in the habbit of rolling out if he's hitstunned you and starts an SB. The stamina cost imo is worth it. because setting the fight back to neutral is a bad thing for warden due to his kit not really having any great options to apply pressure out of neutral. Oh and finally it's rather popular for wardens to feint their top finisher into a light. and they go more for GB's near surfaces because it nets them a top heavy if they throw you into it. Those are 2 common behaviors you need to build muscle memory against. and if you play a static guard hero just keep your guard in that direction and react to everything else.
