For Honor: PC Starter Edition FAQ

    Hello Everyone,

Today we’re releasing For Honor: Starter Edition on PC (UPLAY and Steam). The full details can be found here: http://ubi.li/e3z52

    Here are the quick details:

    • $15 USD / 15 Euro
    • All game content, maps, modes, and events are available in the package
    • No split between Standard Edition and Starter Edition player bases
    • 3 Vanguard Heroes come fully Unlocked
    • 3 additional Heroes (of your chosen Faction) are playable but not Recruited
    • Unlocking Launch Heroes is 8,000 Steel
    • Unlocking DLC (Post-Launch) Heroes is still 15,000 Steel

We wanted to give you a little insight into why we've created this new, cheaper entry into For Honor right now.

With Dedicated Servers now delivered and bringing with them stability and connectivity we’ve never before seen in For Honor, the team believes that the time is right to open the gates for more players to enter the game. We feel this lower price point for the game will greatly reduce the barrier to entry for players across the world.

The health of our community is one of my main concerns. The Starter Edition is just one of the tactics we’ll be using this year to continue growing the game, and our community. While our console players currently enjoy the benefits of a very vibrant and sizeable playerbase, our PC players have not had the same experience. A larger player population on PC will be better for the health of our PC community, helping to reduce matchmaking times and opponent variety, while also increasing the level of competition in game.

If you have questions, please read this FAQ we’ve assembled, and if they still aren’t answered, please post below!

    Q. What is the For Honor Starter Edition?
    A. The Starter Edition allows full access to the For Honor game on PC for a lower price with a difference in the number of playable/customizable heroes and the unlocking system for non-playable/non-customizable heroes.

    Q. What content is available? What content is not available?
    A. The Starter Edition offers the same game modes and maps as the standard edition.
The only difference is the the number of playable/customizable heroes and the unlocking system for non-playable/non-customizable heroes (see Q3).

    Q. What is the unlocking system for heroes in the Starter Edition?
    A. Below is an overview of the unlocking system of the starter edition in comparison to the Standard Edition:

    The Starter Edition:

    • Fully unlocks the 3 vanguard heroes (Warden, Raider, Kensei). Fully unlocked characters are both playable and customizable (weapons, armor, emotes, executions, effects, etc).
    • Provides 3 additional playable Heroes, depending on the faction you have picked (Vikings, Samurai, Knights). You can fully unlock these heroes for 8,000 steel (in-game currency) each to be able to customize them.
    • Allows 6 additional heroes (from the two non-chosen factions) to be fully unlocked (playable and customizable) for 8,000 steel each.
    • Allows heroes from post-launch seasons (including Centurion, Gladiator,Shinobi, Aramusha, Shaman and Higlander) to be fully unlocked for 15,000 steel (same as in the Standard Edition)

Example: A player who bought the Starter Edition and selects the Knight Faction as the faction of their choice will have access to: Warden (fully unlocked), Raider (fully unlocked), Kensei (fully unlocked), Conqueror (playable), Peacekeeper (playable), Lawbringer (playable). The Conqueror, Peacekeeper and Lawbringer are then recruitable to allow customization for 8,000 Steel. All remaining Heroes from launch are fully unlockable for 8,000 Steel too. All heroes from post-launch seasons are fully unlockable for 15,000 Steel.

    Q. How can I fully unlock or purchase other Heroes?
    A. Heroes can be fully unlocked with in-game currency known as steel. Steel can be acquired through playtime. 8,000 Steel is equal to 8-15 hours of gameplay (depending on how you play) or, if players would like to unlock heroes instantaneously, they have the option to purchase steel through the in-game store.

Players can also fully unlock the remaining heroes from launch (vanguards already fully unlocked) with the All Hero Bundle for 25,000 Steel. Heroes released in post-launch seasons remain 15,000 Steel.

    Q. Can I upgrade my Starter Edition to Standard Edition?
    A. A player who bought the Starter Edition will always launch the game as For Honor: Starter Edition, however, the content unlocked from the All Hero Bundle for 25,000 Steel grants players the same amount of playable/customizable heroes as the Standard Edition. Note that this has no effect whatsoever on matchmaking and content available, this only affects the title of the version that you are launching.

    Q. If I have refunded the For Honor Standard Edition and now purchased the For Honor Starter Edition, will this affect the progression and unlocking pricing of the the Starter Edition?
    A. If you have refunded the standard edition where you have unlocked some heroes from launch (for 500 Steel each) and have now purchased the Starter Edition; the price of the Heroes that you have unlocked in the Standard Edition will be 7,500 Steel (8,000 - 500 Steel) in the Starter Edition. If a player has unlocked any of the Heroes from the post-launch seasons in the Standard Edition, these heroes remain fully unlocked in the Starter Edition.

Your progression and customization on said heroes will carry on and are accessible once you fully unlock the Hero(es) in the Starter Edition.

For heroes already fully unlocked (vanguards) progression carries on automatically.

    Q. In which country will the Starter Edition be available?
    A. The Starter Edition is available in all the same countries as the Standard Edition is on Uplay and Steam.

    Q. Is this starter edition also planned on console?
    A. For the moment, the Starter Edition is only available on PC.

    Q. If I refund the Starter Edition and then purchase the Standard Edition, will this affect my progression in the Standard Edition?
    A. All progression achieved in the Starter Edition will carry over to the Standard Edition.

    Q. If I played any For Honor's Free weekends, will this affect my progression and unlocking pricing in the Starter Edition?
    A. If you have unlocked some heroes from launch (for 500 Steel each) during any For Honor's Free Weekend and have now purchased the Starter Edition; the price of the Heroes that you have unlocked in the Standard Edition (during Free Weekend) will be 7,500 Steel (8,000 - 500 Steel) in the Starter Edition. If a player has unlocked any of the Heroes from the post-launch seasons in any of the Free-Weekends, these heroes remain fully unlocked in the Starter Edition.

Your progression and customization on said heroes will carry on and are accessible once you fully unlock the Hero(es) in the Starter Edition.

For Heroes already fully unlocked (vanguards) progression carries on automatically.

    Q. Does playing through the Starter Edition restrict me to only playing with/against people who have it as well?
    A. No. The Starter Edition gives players access to the same servers and matchmaking as the Standard Edition. This means players from the Starter Edition can matchmake with players from the Standard Edition.

    Buffs

The gladiator needs more unblockables. I got the gladiator and he is a decent character, I can get a good amount it kills with him but he really needs unblockables, it would make him a way funner character to play as and getting kills would be a lot easier. And like I said hes a good character but he is not that great at racking up kills like the beserker. Please make sure this gets to the creators and share if u agree

How To Save For Honor Game

How to save the game for honor.

To those who bought the game, a 20k retribution for the lost time that can not be recovered and a champion to choose the new and 5 exp tickets.
So we avoid many problems and people are happy and happy and do not feel that they lack respect, since everything is based on mutual respect.

Stop spamming skills. (It is solved with an extended period of time, if between attack and attack there are 10 seconds put 20 seconds of delay to reuse it.
People would learn to play without spamming skills and the quality of players would be more noticeable.

The minimum bugs like throwing an enemy into the fire and getting up quickly can be corrected.

Improved balance system. 1 rep. up to 10 rep. / 10 of rep to 20/20 of rep. up to 30 / And so on, in passing we avoid a big problem and in the process we make people enjoy the communication and experience when playing, since there would be no such abuse
like the rep56 + vs rep 1+ and a few bots); People would say that the pvp effect is fine and that it has an adequate balance at each level of reputation and not insulting by the opponent's game mode or abuse of armor and fighting techniques.

It is obvious that people who play with yostick have some advantage when fighting so the community that uses a PC console is frustrated or angry because the delay, between defense and ability, can not be spayed so fast.
one wants spam to be finished and to be more even, since the game is great and expects improvements from it. People who abuse the ability of the champion as the vanguard who stows 2 and puts a shoulder thrust, if you make that combo automatically you have to do another,
because this one you will not be able to do it again immediately with an autoperry or breaking guard. Since many players tend to do it, like the push of the conqueror or the stopping of orochi with the breakthrough and constantly spam that unique ability.

Thousands of problems can be avoided by solving some very simple and recurring requests from the community.
They do not need to make the game free, when they can continue to make a profit by repairing these minimal defects.

Remember that they use computers to create the game, not yotcick.
Put yourself in the shoes of others who were not born with a yotsick in the hand but with a mouse and a keyboard.

    Regards!

    PD: New ideas?
Add new factions, the world was full of them, if they mix who really cares? If we want to fight with honor and honor!
So be a ninja against a "Native American" or an Arab against a North American.
The world is very broad! If we go to remote ages we can find wrestling monks, thieves, Ilucionistas among others.

Year 700 onwards find good things

Arab, African troops, the people of India do not stay behind and there are very interesting weapons.
    Visigoths, Egyptians, etc.
The world is very broad and everything happened at the same time.
Let the game evolve and justice be done.

If I buy the starter edition
Can I unlock all the characters in the game with enough play?
Can I customize all characters if I unlock them and play enough?
Is there anything suspect with the starter edition?
Is anything limited, capped, or not accessible with the starer edition?

    Thanks

    Hi !
I bought the Standard edition yesterday (15€) and I saw how the mechanisms work.

In the standard edition : For the basic characters (there is 12), you don't need to pay to play with them. But if you want to customize them you need to pay : 500 steels (except for the first character for each faction which it's completely free for both editions)

In the starter edition : You need to choose 1 faction (in the standard edition aswell), you can play all the characters in this faction for free (so 4 ) but if you want to customize them you need to pay 8000 steels for each character :/ And if you want to play for the other basic characters, if I understood well, you need to pay 8000 steels for each character :/

For the DLC characters for both editions you need to pay 15 000 money in game for each character, so well : if you want to save money, buy the starter edition, but I think the standard edition is good if you buy when the price's decreasing like now (15€ if you live in Europa, you can see it here → https://isthereanydeal.com/game/forhonor/info/)
And if you really want the starter edition, there was 2 times the game came for free so I suggest to you to wait and pray.

There is some pictures which explain better than me :

Hope you understand more the differences between these 2 editions and sorry for my bad English

    Thanks for the info.
I'm only considering the starter edition because I want to test the game first, and that's the cheapest way to test.
It'd be kool if there was a free couple hours demo that anyone can download any time.

I think I might wait for a special on the starter or standard edition or wait for a free weekend to test.
