It seems like it’s abilities of a silent sniper rifle and marking without the person knowing could very easily be split into two classes and be effective.

The only way I could see it being somewhat balanced is if the bolt action takes two shots to kill non assault

Its going to be interesting. Remember that the Stalker is going to have to break cover to spot. You could argue that a sniper currently breaks cover and shoots (I'd rather be spotted then dead). There will be limited times when you would rather spot an enemy than shoot.
The lack of a sound marker could be the real bonus, though the mention up subsonic rounds makes me think the bullet drop could be high (and therefore balanced) .
As for the shotgun secondary, if it behaves like the other shotguns (except super shotty) then I would guess it wont be used much. Unless there has been a shotgun rework, which wouldn't surprise me.
If the whole team sees the mark I wont even turn my game back on, I absolutely will not play agianst and OP long distance disruptor. Without being disrupted or even knowing you are marked. Why would anyone leave there spawn? That is ridiculous.

Agreed and it would be a shame cuz I really love this game

I remember back in the SOCOM days when anybody could have a silenced weapon and you had to figure out where shots were coming from anyway sooooooo... This game has hndicapped players so much that theyre worried about a mechanic that in the past was something you had to adjust and adapt to... Not saying get good scrub... Just saying adjustments and adaptation is and should be a part of the game....

Will it be able to mark pathfinders and assassins?

As far as this class is concerned, I think the shotgun was a bit too much. I don't have an opinion on the primary weapon/abilities.

But I think for a class as good as this one, why give them a good shotgun on top of the rest?

Think you guys may be overestimating this classes effectiveness from long range.

Admittedly I haven't played with it yet. But from reading the description, the class uses subsonic ammo which enables it to be silent at ranges over 90m away.

That's a double edged sword. The same subsonic ammo is going to make it really challenging to hit distance targets effectively, especially moving targets. Bullet drop is going to be a pain. I think it will be akin to the pve gameplay with suppressed snipers....severe bullet drop.

as for the marking for the whole team? There must be some benefit to the class.

Looking forward to trying it....dreading the bullet drop. lol

If Ubisoft wants a persecutor, they have to fix it. A warning sign during the shot would be good enough.
I'm not trying to be toxic here, but why don't you guys wait until you actually play as or play against the Stalker before you start complaining? From what I understand in this thread, your complaining solely on a 2 min video of the update. No one knows for sure if he marks enemies for himself or the whole team yet. So why are we talking about it a day ahead of time.
