Greetings! The Rainbow Six Siege forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

@Aenigmatista, no, it's not easy how you expect. XIM4 is an emulator which as it says emulates the controller. That being said PS4/XB1 recognizes it as a normal controller (and the game too).

Whatever you do ubi, don't do like some are suggesting and just open console to M+K for all. It's bad enough with the Xim, etc, but at least they aren't as precise as native support. I play on console because I would rather not play against thousands of neck-beards with superhuman aim. If you add native support, please at least separate users based on input type. Otherwise I'll be calling it quits on the franchise and I'm sure other console users will as well.

So I am not hopeless, but I am here pointing out that your point in showing Ubisoft's responses is only to show there is a MAJOR hole.

Manufacturers legally cannot do anything. Need to go to devs per game. Devs say go to Sony/MS and there is not a single person who has been able to get official statements. But in fact there is :

Per UbiEpi: "As Ne0nboy mentioned, it is detected as a controller due extra hardware they are using.

Native KBM support is disabled for Rainbow Six Siege. There is nothing further that can be done on our end."

And per a ubisoft chat excerpt: modded controllers are advised against as they may fall under their cheating system. But even when the guy asking the rep if it's just a "gray" area, there was no straight answer.

So overall, ALL of your examples just show that Ubisoft can't give a straight answer, they say to go to Manufacturer who will point you back to Dev, and that's IF you can prove it - which is literally you getting someone to outright say it and catch it in a recording. Also known as - Ubisoft's hands are tied and they can't do anything.

I think this thread's case is hopeless as opposed to me not thinking your references are good enough - because they're not. Although I do applaud your due diligence and digging up those examples. They're as close as anyone is going to get to some type of straightforward answer unfortunately.
I have a solution, show up at an R6 tournament for Xbox or PS4 with a Xim and see what happens.

I think people believe this issue is far more rampant than it truly is.

Oh, the dude pulled off a sick snapshot? Must be mouse and keyboard..

Drew squiggles in the air? Mouse and keyboard..

The reality is, there are some pretty damn talented people who have been using these controls for a LONG damn time. My son runs his controller at a speed that would have me running into walls, and makes some bad *** plays. In COD he moves so fast and burns people down so quick, I'm absolutely amazed just watching him play. He constantly snaps directly on to target and cuts people down in the blink of an eye. So I know it can be done on a regular basis and it does not require a mouse and keyboard to do it.

And let's be honest, when we lose a gun fight, especially when they pull off and amazing shot, we want to blame something. No way they could have done that without a mouse and keyboard, right?

People don't play games on consoles just so they can use the controller. People play games on consoles because it's considerably cheaper and easier to have games run well and stable. If a beast gaming rig only cost me between $300-$500 like an xbox does, you best bet i would be on the pc.

I think you're just upset because you get rolled in ranked. Get good. Keep practicing. Build a team and some team strategies.
i inject myself with steroids because i am a ***** too brother dont worry youre not alone. I too lie on the edges and say it is not cheating cause i am too ignorant to admit i am doing wrong.

How is it for real gamers, using KB & M gives you an advantage over other players also known as cheating.

Stating in an argument where someone has mispelt/mispronounced a f******g word, well to me anway, believes you just admitted that our point of view is valid, which it is either way. The point of what and where we choose to play our video games and use of power and electricity is the "console." It was made literally to make it easier to access a controller and be automatically paired to a gaming system, instead of MK.

Also, with them not outlawing the obvious, does that really outline and confirm that anything can not be classified as wrong or cheating?

You can say marathon athletes, for example. There are always new performance-enhancing drugs that have not been noticed by WADA, therefore its technically a valid result for the athlete on any means. But you don't realise, its CHEATING. Cheating. Yes, its a illegal advantage on the platform, including video games and literally any competition. It may not be identified by the company whether they have identified the enhancing equipment or not, its used to be unfair on all levels. If you can't hack it on your own servers, where you had to make a choice to PURCHASE the game on PC and buy everything necessary to use it, git gud. Your ruining the game.

    Last thing.

And no. We would not use a controller on PC, simple.
