Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission:
During the last State of the Game, Community Developers Petter Mårtensson and Yannick Banchereau announced the upcoming Global Event weekends during our March anniversary.
Petter, Yannick, and Hamish are back this week with Massive Creative Director Julian Gerighty and Game Director Mathias Karlson to share an announcement with the community and provide a roadmap for the future of The Division.
If you missed the stream, you check out the VoD. If you’re currently on the move, we have you covered with our Podcast Recap.
Today marks the exact two-year anniversary of the launch of The Division! The anniversary celebration is already well underway with the Global Event Weekends, and we are continuing the celebration today with the announcement that we are already working on The Division 2. We have learned so much over the course of The Division, and we want to take the opportunity to implement those lessons to create the best experience possible for our players. We also want to take advantage of new advancements to the Snowdrop engine.
We are excited to share more news with everyone at this year’s E3 in June.
With The Division 2 in development, that does not mean that we are halting support for The Division. We have two updates on the horizon, with more content and features for our players:
- Update 1.8.1—launching in April with Legendary modes for Amherst’s apartment and Grand Central Station, the Xbox One X patch (4k rendering, improved reflections/shadows/detail), new Classified acquisition rates, a new Global Event: Blackout followed by new Global Event: Onslaught in May.
- Update 1.8.2—launching in June with two more Legendary mission modes, the rotation of monthly Global Events, and the new Shields campaign in which completing achievements in The Division grants special rewards in The Division 2.
For a full overview of upcoming events, check out our Roadmap.
We are also launching a two-week PTS tomorrow, March 9th for PC only. Update 1.8.1 features will be available for testing.
Remember that more information about Division 2 will be available at E3 in June. While we are excited for the sequel, support will continue on The Division as usual!
Do not forget that The Global Events are still on rotation throughout the month of March for our anniversary. Global Event: Assault is live now!
A huge thank you to everyone who plays The Division, and we are very much looking forward to the future!
As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forums or on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.
Until next time!

Omg guys. We all appreciate a platform where we can hear about what's going on in the game and what's coming up but 26 minutes of disorganized ranting and repeating the same information. It's like you don't know in advance what you have to say and you're reading it for the first time. That thing could have been 5mins total.
hi guys! great job on keeping the cringe every sotg.. lol
maybe add a little background music i guess?
anyways, the plan is set for division 2 and GE events
I'd like to congratulate you guys again for the hard work
and constant improvement of TD
since TD2 is coming out i just want to point out some things:
-pls make a weather update (im so sick of snow)
-pls dont downgrade the in-game graphics shown in E32018 (we need more honest marketing this time)
-i really hope i can keep my patches/ commendations from TD1 to TD2 (since i worked on it so hard...)
thats all and more power guys!
thank you

Hack Hack Hack Hack Hack![]()
Legendary missions are mostly completely different from the other difficulty versions. They often have different objections, different enemy types and bosses. They just follow the same route in the same area as their easier counterparts. I'm looking forward to them. I do agree though, I am disappointed that there's not even some new weapons or classified versions of HE / exotic gear. Something.Originally Posted by Batmart91 Go to original post
I enjoy legendary missions and personally I think all missions should have had them by now.Originally Posted by Sangersss Go to original post
But from the Y3 road map (and I appreciate they gave us a road map) doesn't show anything that'd improve the endgame progression for the players or even add new endgame pursuits.
New legendary missions but the same loot, new Global Events but the same loot, better Classified drop rates but the same Classifieds, new shield achievement but are just achievements.
We are just getting more of the same which isn't exciting.
Maybe it's an attempt just to hold players long enough for TCTD2.
