Tallyho;
Yes it does. DVD is the wave of the future. It wouldn't surprise me if BoB will be on a DVD.
A friend of mine at work, a hard core FPS type, never quite understood my addiction to FB/AEP/PF. Then he got Silent Hunter III. Now he comes to work regaling me with tales of the deep while I tell tales of my air exploits. That a simualtion would so hook a dyed-in-the-wool Shooter guy says volumes to me about the immersive quality of this game.
Lord knows I don't have time for another sim but maybe I'll have to find the time. From everything I've heard this is an excellent game. And the trailers are stupendous! Oleg, can we get water like that?
Amazing, the number of typos that I missed while self-editing. Minor typos are not so bad (i.e. spelling/extra words), but I do want to make one correction. Under system requirements the necessary free HD space should read "2 Gigs". I seem to have added a "1" there, making the total requirement 21 gigs . . . Well, hopefully you will all know that no DVD can hold that much data, even compressed, so my bad, Folks. All you need are the 2 gigs.
I sent this off last night, and Snoopy had her up for viewing this morning. He's one fast mod
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. If you have all followed the comments from some of the other community members playing the game, then you know that this baby comes highly recomended. I've been using it as a drug to alleviate "patch mania" when I feel its evil clutches
Tsisqua
Nice one tsisqua.
I have to say that SHIII has to be played with headphones. It really adds to the tension when your stuck down deep when the destroyers start pinging you.
The other week I had an all day session. After about 14 hours I ended up getting pinned on the bottom by two destroyers.I could not shake them so went for the stop everything & sweat it out aproach. I was tired & the result was I feel asleep with headphones on.
The result was an ugly affair.
"DEPTH CHARGES IN THE WATER SIR"
BOOM.BOOM.BOOM
I left the chair nearly screaming. For one horrible second it felt like I was there. I'm now thinking about hanging some Ham's & sausages above my desk. So next time it happens when I jump up with a bit of luck I might knock myself out & save myself a whole lot of shock.
